I'm assuming you are talking about Season 7 of Scrubs. In the show, the chiefs of medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital have traditionally stepped down at the age of 65. So the administrators of the hospital were forcing Kelso to "retire." But, luckily, the staff of the hospital convinced the board of directors to let Kelso stay on as Chief. But Kelso, just because he is Kelso, decided to retire, on his own terms. In most of the episodes in Season 8, he is still seen hanging around the hospital because he says he loves it there and because he won free muffins for life at the CoffeeBucks. In Season 9, Kelso returns in multiple episodes as a professor at the New Sacred Heart Teaching Hospital on the campus of Winston University, a fictional medical school in CA. Hope it helped, bob

he didn't get fired, he just retired and he was guaranteed free donuts for life so he stays at the hospital, anyways.

To me i went on the website to watch the episode and it says on bio for kelso that he retired. To me that kelso was really nice to his staff especially to dr. cox when it came to rounds. To he is nothing but selfy so yeah if he is gone maybe sacred heart hospital will be more friendlier. To me it is funny how he tries to be funny but he really aint. Because to me he dont act like he is the command. It is bad when the staff are too scared to go to him for equipment or even a raise. To me no one should be scared of him. I dont see how everyone can let him be the tough ruler when to me he dont even sit with patient. To me he told the staff on one of the episode that they need to spend more time one on one with the patience but do you ever see kelso doing it. To me he is just a money hungry person because the hospital wants him to be. If the insurance dont cover them for a current amount of being in the hospital they have to hurry up and get them out of there. To me what would happen if something bad was wrong with them and they were discharging them. Doesnt that matter especially if they can do a lawsuit on the hospital.
