It's Christmas, and I'm wondering - will you put up a real tree or a fake one? We are considering an "ornament tree". It's a metal tree that has hooks where you can hang your ornaments. It's 7 feet tall and made of metal, and will lay flat for storage.
Last year we bought a real tree, spent $150 on it, and within a week it was so dry that I didn't want to turn the lights on anymore.
I'd consider a fake one, but I'm concerned about storage space for the 11 1/2 months I won't be using it.
So what do you thing? Real or Fake? And what do you think of the Ornament tree?

Well, I just answered another discussion about this, and the bottom line is I will always get a fake tree, because my mother is allergic to pine trees. But I have thought about the ornament trees before. I think this may be a good idea, because it already has the places to put ornaments. I've also considered the trees with the lights already on them, because you don't have to worry about untangling the lights every year, then fighting with them again when its time to take the tree down.

AH! The lights - they drive me crazy! I'm thinking of buying some of those "light organizers", which are really just large spools to roll the lights onto. I've gotten my christmas stuff down to six boxes, and I know I could get rid of more, but over the past year I've been collecting more! I hope I can find it all now that it's time to use it!

Real tree all the way. A real tree is the one thing every christmas I just have to have.My mom told me i was so set on real trees when i was a kid that one christmas i told her all i wanted for christmas was a real christmas tree and she didnt have to get me anything else. There's just something about the real thing I guess it could be the pine smell or just the way it looks when it's decorated. Every year I find myself laying under the tree after it's been decorated with lights and ornaments staring up throught the lights just relaxing not thinking about anything. It's one of those little traditions i've had sense i was a kid. I've never seen one of those ornament trees so I can't really give an opinion.
