Strange puppy behavior

I've bragged about my dog in several other discussions, so I felt like starting one about one of the things he does that I find incredibly strange but funny. Now, whenever I'm sitting in front of my computer (which is most of it actually) my dog would be either sleeping in my bed, which he's allowed to unless I'm on it, or by my feet. The room leads to a long hallway/patio, on one end of the hallway is the front door, the other end leads to a common room with doors to the kitchen, bathroom and a back yard/garden. During the day, whenever I leave my chair, the dog would wag his tail, look at me, then run towards the front door, expecting to take a walk. This is very normal, he likes to go outside and he figures if I'm leaving my chair it might mean I'll take him out. Plus, I take him out several times a day, so like I said, it's very normal and obvious. However, as soon night falls, this behavior changes entirely. Instead of running to the front door waging his tail, he will run to the backyard, barking like crazy. If I went to the bathroom for instance, he would remain at the backyard barking until he'd hear the bathroom door closing. In which case he would come back looking at me, then turn around, bark a bit more and then he would go back to sleep on my bed, waging his tail and for some reason, I'm sure feeling all proud about himself. He really does look that way, chest puffed out, walking tall. Kinda like when we play fetch and I praise him for grabbing whatever I throw and he droping it at my feet. What do you think? Is it because I praised him for making cats run away from the yard in the past? If so, why does he do it ONLY during night time?. Is it because during the night the only places I go to are the Bathroom/kitchen/backyard and he feels the need to go and say "Go away, my master is passing by!". Is he just nuts? Oh! And please, share your stories about whatever nutty things your dogs do. I'd love to hear them. Rich

I have a pure white English bulldog, They are known as stubborn dogs , which is correct, My dog is so funny and very stubborn, Like u r i am mostly in front of my computer and he never leave me alone, he starts bringing his toys if i ignore him he thinks that it is about the toy so he brings another one until i play with him. His nails is out so they hurt so bad and like he knows it he always grabs my arm with his bear claws :) I have lots of scratches on my arms, he is trying to attract the attention, and one of the funniest thing he is doing is while i am on the couch and trying to watch the TV he brings his toy and leaves it on my lap and goes back few steps and start staring at ceilings like he is not paying attention , waiting me to make a move forward the toy :) when i move he jumps and steals it back, when i start watching the tv again he leaves it again on my lap and he starts to look at the ceilings it goes like this forever :)He thinks he fools me :D

Ahhh, the "I'm ignoring you and then leap for it when you least expect it" strategy! Mine doesn't do it to me, but he does use it with his brother. I'm lucky enough to have my best friend be the owner of my dog's sibling, and since I have a big backyard he tends to bring him over a couple times a week. We kinda have the mutts growing up together, which is good. Now, my dog is very social and hyperactive, he likes other dogs, he likes people, he wants to play with all of them, it could be fetch with humans or "lets bite each other up" with other puppies of his size. His brother on the other hand is very anti-social. Besides the people in his household he likes me, and that's because he's been seeing me since he was two months old. He's also a bit more lazy, you play fetch with him for five minutes and he's done, he's gone to take a nap. And that's the thing between the two bros, they wrestle for a while and as soon as the brother decided to nap, he'd push him a bit to try and get his attention. Failing that, he ALWAYS goes and get a toy, lay down and start chewing it, trying to get his brother's attention. As soon as he gets it, he drops the toy and starts looking around with shifty eyes, as in saying "Oh, looky, I dropped the toy, you can take it!". The brother stands up, my dog grabs the toy and runs away, the other one chases. Two seconds later the toy is dropped and they start wrestling again. I also just realized I seem to really enjoy ranting about my dog, so I'm really sorry for the long read. Oh, and you should really post some pics of your dog. I'd post some of mine, but it seems you need 500 posts to do so. Rich
