Many of us have pets and have you noticed whether dogs can identify colours?

I do not think the dogs can identify the colours. But it is amazing that near my house, there is dog trainer, who shows a red shirt and ask the dog to bring a red ball kept at a distance and it brings. I donot know how it is possible?

I think they cannot see colours and they cannot differentiate the colours. But they rely on their remarkable sense of smell to tell things apart.
