Has anyone tried doing spelunking? How does it feel to go inside a cave? i haven't tried it yet but my friends and I are planning to do it on January. Maybe I'm just very excited, it's gonna be our group's first adventure for 2009. The last time we had an adventure was last May, when we went to Camiguin Island. After that we haven't seen each other again because my friends had to work in Manila.

I've went spelunking and it's a lot of fun. Make sure you have the right equipment and you're with people who have been in the cave before. You'll need a flashlight on your helmet, a flashlight for your hand, some great boots, and take a camera! There are some beautiful sites to be seen inside a cave. It's fun and exhilerating and you're in for a great workout!

I think it will really be a great workout. The cave's length is almost 2km. We're still negotiating with the guides though. My friend told me that we should just buy our own equipment so that we can still use them should we go spelunking again. Thanks for your response, now I know what I should bring on this adventure. ^_^

ei... spelunking is a great adventure! i've tried it last year on my birthday, we went inside five caves of different sizes and lengths, one was very long it will take months to reach the end. There was also a huge one like a cathedral, it was quite like a small gymnasium inside a mountain... hehe the best part was the cave with a falls and river inside, the water was very cold and it was very deep, you have to hold on to bamboo poles to swim across. it's really fun, i had the best birthday!

I have tried it and it was great, my first time with friends from abroad who really enjoy those kind of adventure. It was my first time and I felt scarry but I enjoyed a lot. It was my first time to rapel 70 feet deep and dark and eerie and it was really really scarry and I have to do it alone, but in fairness I was able to do well and loved it. I hope i can enjoy it again. I hope we can go spelunking. Have a nice day and take care!

A couple of years ago I went to Belize in Central America and climbed its Mayan ruins there and in Mexico and in Guatemala too. I was staying in a tree house and I went on a day trip to the ATM caves. Wow! It was so adventurous and exciting. We had to wear swim wear under our clothes and walk for 45 minutes and cross three rivers. Getting to the cave entrance we took off our clothes down to our swim wear. We folded our clothes and put them on our head before putting on our crash helmets. We swam into the cave and the water was cool. Bats were flying around. Then we got into the cave and on dry land we got dressed again and each of us took our camera back from the guide. We climbed and saw old bones and broken pieces of Mayan pottery. It was a demanding day and one that I will never forget.
