Restoring Arbor Day

When I was a kid, we celebrated Arbor Day with tree planting. I think we don't have Arbor Day in the Philippines anymore. How about in other countries, do you still have Arbor Day? Do you think it's a good idea to restore it as an annual event?

My question is, what is Arbor Day? I never heard about of it. If its is about tree planting or about restoring healthy environment, then I will support it.
