I want to buy an used I phone in ebay.com, it is not availabe in ebay.com.in, when I was searching for it the USA site, there was lot of used Iphones available and the sellers were also ready to ship it to India. In India a new Iphone costs nearly $600 to $700 , whereas these sellers were ready to sell the used ones for about $200 rs. Of course these are older models, and as far as I am concerned, I do not mind the old model, because 3g has not yet come to India. I want your advice on whether these sellers are reliable or after getting the money through credit card payment, will they fail to send me the phone.

Whenever you're thinking of making a purchase on ebay, just do tons of research on the sellers who have what you're looking for. It's important to go with sellers with positive feedback and very high rankings. I tend to browse through not just the comments people have left them but the comments they have left for their buyers. Always pay for insurance on the shipment, if they do not offer it then request it be added to the invoice. Request tracking info and delivery confirmation as well.
Also, when you go through paypal you're at least protected to some degree.
Since you wouldn't have to get the newer version, that would save you some money for sure!
My husband loves his iphone and I highly recommend it!!
Good luck on your search!

Thank you for your response, I do not want to go to such extent to get the second hand Iphone, I shall go for the HTC touch screen phone, which also offers the same features of the Iphone at a much lesser rate.

A great thing about ebay is that you can leave a reputation on a seller. When you see the item that you want to buy it usually say the sellers average reputation on the right side. Just try to find a seller who's reputation is 99.5%+, and who has more that 500 sales.
In general, people on Ebat are pretty honest. If you find a good deal, bid on it. I can almost guarentee that you wont get scammed while using Ebay.

Basically since I am going to buy a second hand Iphone, I do not if know it is a fixed price or bidding will be there. My only worry is since I am in India and the seller is in US, I hope I will not be cheated, by sending a broken phone or a phone which will not work properly. Thanks for the response.
