Hi there everyone, i have a problem with trying to find out God's Gender. In Christianity It seems like Their God is Male. For example when one prays He/She will say "Our FATHER who is in Heaven......". Christians say God is Spirit. This is where i get confused because if God is Spirit how would you know if it is He or She. In Islam they say say their God has no Gender. The only problem that they have is English language that force them to sound like their God is Male. I dont know other Religions how they define their Gods' Gender.
I am a lost soul who wants to know the truth. I want to know a which religion i can follow but first i need to know what is it that i am following.
Please dont take it as a blasfemy.....

Hi there dimphod, I'll try to help you out. First of all, Christianity is the most expanded religion in the world. Why? Because Jesus Christ itself has set his foot here to save our souls. Orthodoxy is a great religion (along with Catolicism it replenishes Christianity), you have to read about it.
You gave yourself the response, God is Holy Spirit. He hasn't gender. Now, it can be difficult for you to imagine that. But remember that he created man and women just for perpetuating humankind. So, God is Man+Woman without gendre. He is spirit. I think that other religions define Him just like Christianity does.
I hope this helped! Have a nice day!

Thank you for your response. Now tell me, is there a deference betwenn ORTHODOXY, CATOLICISM and CHRISTIANITY? You said God has no Gender but why do people keep on describing God as if it is HIM (Male)? why cant they say SHE or HER one day? That is where my problem is because once you say "He" it means you are refering to a MAN.

Ok. I'll try harder. We use language and letters, words and expressions, but we can't understand the Holy Spirit by words. Spirit, the same, is male gender. Why is that?Because we are using a language that has limits! Nature is female gender. Why? Because this is how language evolved, not Nature itself. But,father is father and is male because he is the one to protect the family, to make the seed and to continue the humankind. Now, God may be perceived as male, because of this attribute - protecting and watching over us. But, this is just in our way of seeing things. In fact, there is no gender at all.
Well, Christianity consists of Orthodoxy and Catolicism. The orthodox man haven't changed their rituals in 2000 years! The meaning of orthodox is ortho - right, and dox - fatih. So, we have the right faith. The catolics have changed their traditions many times. Jesus Christ and the people around him gave advices upon which the Church was built. Until 1054, all christians followed the same rules. In 1054, they divided themself in catolics and orthodox. I strongly recommend that you make your research on orthodoxy.
I hope this helped. Have a nice day!
