Have you tried download accelerator pro? I think it will increase your download speed as they break download files to manage bandwidth. But I am not quite sure. I always used godzilla for downloading purposes.

I think the so-called boosting speed software won't help you a lot. Your downloading speed depends on many factor including the connection way, the bandwidth of server, the downloading software you choosed as well. There are some factor we can't control, and what we can choose is downloading software, which is also important. The same link, different downloading software may present differnt effect. I don't know of anything like that. I have lovely dialup and would love to have a faster download speed also.
