I direct a small nonprofit and would like to give a small something to each of our volunteers this Christmas. This is coming out of my pocket. We have about 20 volunteers and I can only spend $50-$60 total for everybody. I looked at Christmas music CD's from the dollar store. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi, with your budget, it will work out to about $2.50- $3.00 per person. We run a training center, and sometimes we have to fork out our own money to buy tokens/presents for our participants, so we would get them mugs, stationery sets, memo holders or even fancy food/drink containers. Hope this helps.

One of the last plays that I performed in had a huge cast. The director and his wife bought cute picture frames and put the name of the play and the dates of the play inside the picture area. It was a cheap, cute, and thoughtful gift that I will help me always remember that play!

Wendy,
I like this. Since we work with juvenile offenders I could get them to help decorate the frames. Then, I could take any leftover money and create bookmarks from the computer and possibly do candy bags or cookies too.
Thanks for your help with this. I was really stuck.

We've done the bookmark thing at work as a leadership development gift. We chose a quote a la those at places like Successories, put a little graphic up top, and printed them out on a color printer. We also laminated them to make them durable, punched a hole in the top, and attached some eighth-inch ribbon using a larks head "knot" (it doesn't really look like a knot to me). I had forgotten about those.

Gift bags of candy or homemade cookies (if you have time) would be fairly inexpensive. If you craft at all, a homemade ornament or card would indicate your heartfelt wishes. Crocheted or knit coffee cozies (better than the cardboard ones) are nice. I guess a lot of it depends on how much time you have.
