i read that having mini-breaks like a 5 minute break in every few hours of work can really maximize effieciency, makes a person happier and less stress. do you believe in this? or do you work till exhausted?
for me, i really need to take short breaks or else i will feel a bad butt pain coming... LOL...
would be very interested to hear from your opinions.

i take small little vacations throughout the day too lol! I am always taking a break to look something up on the net, talk to someone, use the restroom, get something to drink and anything else i can think of LOL. Doesn't matter what you do there will always be more work waiting for you so might as well haha.

It's a must to take mini breaks during work time. I know I must! It's pretty hard to work 9 hours in front of the PC. Sometimes my eyes hurt so I have to go out, get a mouth of fresh air and just stay still for a few minutes. Or sometimes we go out for a tea or a coffee and chill. When I come back at the office I'm fresh, my eyes don't hurt anymore and I can work better.
Psst, just don't tell my boss about this :))

I think that depends on how busy I am.If I am very very busy that have no time to do other things ,because I really too busy to have a small break ,and there are so many things need me to do .They are all urgent and should finish at once .
Yes ,I had heard that to have a mini-break is good for our health and later works. We all know that "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy ."

I think you are right!! I am also doing that short breaks in between my work but sometimes I am engross with my breaks.. haahahah and I forgot the things I am suppose to be doing.. that is when I am at home working with my online thing.. or my sewing or knitting.. I have a lot to do and taking a short break is really refreshing.
Well, when I had my full time work before, I always take breaks when I am exhausted. I will go to the canteen, talk with some friends and eat.. then went back to work.

Yeah I do this quite a lot. Especially when I'm doing really monotonous stuff at "work" LOL. I would stop and look at pictures on my computer for a bit then get back to work. I also did this a lot while I was working at the bank. The job was already driving me to the point of insanity before I quit. I was just so busy and everyday was becoming an ordeal. Things just kept coming in and it seemed like it would never let up. I think my five-minute breaks actually saved me from going berserk at that time. Right now though, I am taking it easy as I'm working for my dad. I'm sorry to say that my 5-minute breaks have become quite a bit of a distraction because I would stop and would just like to play Pokemon for a little while and then I end up playing for an hour!

I know that when I was a student revising all day didn't keep my mind focused. If I began at 9.00 and had a break at 10.30 I could dance to a couple of tunes and drink some water. When I am teaching I feel that I need my morning break and lunch time to relax a bit and chat to colleagues. However if I go to a staff meeting straight after school I feel tired later because I didn't have a break to unwind. Yes, just a five minute break can boast work performance and takes away much stress from the average person. If an employee feels angry the best thing that he could do would be have a five minute break to unwind and become focused in a positive way.

I don't study or work till the extent of exhaustion. I like to take frequent breaks because I am used to this way and it helps me in recharging and refreshing .It increases my efficiency.

This is a proven fact that most companies don't look into doing. The 5 minute break allows most to get away from their computer and get rid of all the antsy legs etc.
It's ergonomically correct for every 4 hours at a computer screen there should be at least a 15 minute break (that's what I believe to be true) For me I'm so used to being in front of a computer screen that my breaks are taken online. It helps you to refresh your thought process and so you don't muck around all the time.
