The capacity to procreate confuses me, and I am highly interested with how Meyer came up with this part of her vampire legend. In Book 4 of Meyer's Series, Edward and Bella make love which results to Bella getting pregnant. But how could that be if technically, bodies of vampires are already dead, and only their souls are immortal?

The fact that Edward Cullen has the body of a 17-years old and look fresh and gorgeous, maybe he has the capacity to impregnate human like Bella. I also read the spoiler of Breaking of Dawn and it tells that Bella and Edward wed and went to a secluded island off coast of Brazil as part of the honeymoon. Bella got pregnant and after two months she gave birth to a baby girl whom they called Renesmee. Maybe vampires have hormones and body cells too.LOL!well, according also to Stephenie Meyer's interview, she has no plan (at the moment)for to sell the rights of Breaking Dawn into Summit Entertainment because it is so hard to transform that into a motion picture because of so many complexities, like for instance, Renesmee is a child but behaved and think like a grown up woman, Meyer speculated that no child actress could ever do this. Well, considering what the modern technology can do nowadays, this can be very possible. Let's just hope that Meyer will changed her mind and sold the rights of Breaking Dawn, otherwise we missed the chance to see how Edward Cullen impregnate Bella Swan in the movie.lol!

I didn't really like the last book, and because of that. yes, it makes a tiny bit of sense that the male vampires would be more fertile than female ones, as it doesn't require so much in the way of bodily change, but still. I think it was a bit of a cop out to be honest. I felt like it got in the way of the perfection of Bella and Edward, together forever and not needing anyone else in their life.

Stephenie Meyer actually answers this question in her FAQ section for Breaking Dawn. Be warned, this web page is pretty much the biggest spoiler you will ever read..So I would only recommend going to the site if you have finished the book. The link is http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/bd_faq.html
