Facebook: Hate it or Love it?

Personally I'm not really a fan of the idea of being on facebook. I guess that might seem a little strange seeing as how im on mylot and this is a social site as well. However from I first heard of facebook and hi5 and the rest years ago I just didn't like the idea of just promoting my friendships online. I realise that this might be an un-necessarily harsh view but unlike the rest of the persons that I know I've never felt particularly inclined to join. I know facebook is a good way of promotion though so one day I might just be there. So what about you guys... do you like facebook or do you think its waste of time?

Personally, I can careless about either one of them, facebook or myspace! They're cool if ur trying to reconnect with old acquaintances, but I'm more into getting paid for being online, my time is money personally! I do have to take my hat off to facebook, hooked me up with an old schoolmate on the site! We found each other on there and have been kickin it every since, but now it's time to make money. Promoting is whack on those sites, they call it spamming even when ur not, so middle finger!

I agree, I use Facebook, but to promote the webcomic my friend and I have, and not myself. I think it's pretty pointless to spend hours there uploading pictures of yourself just so your friends can leave comments on it. It's kind of repetitive. O.o
However, with our Facebook, I've managed to locate a few of my cousins that I haven't seen for a few years and send them messages. I've never really believed it, but Facebook *is* a good way to keep in touch with your family and friends that are far away. I know people that have accounts just for this purpose, so now I'm considering making one of my own. =P
If you want to go on Facebook just to promote yourself, as many people do nowadays, I don't think that's a good enough reason. =P There's way too many people on there just for that. If you have a genuine interest or other use to it, then I would strongly encourage you to. ^_^

I agree with you on that, about it being pointless to just upload pictures of yourself for your friends to comment on. In terms of gaining publicity for the work that your doing then its a great tool. Thanks for commenting

I have never checked out facebook,I am on myspace but I dont go there much anymore since I have been mylotting I spend most of my spare time here,I go over to myspace about once a week.Someday I might check out facebook.you have a great night.
