Our Vacation was cut short.

I was supposed to come back on Sunday. We got back on Saturday. My moms Sister Virginia passed away on Thanksgiving day. They called us the next day. I guess they waited so they would not ruin our Thanksgiving, and plus to give their selves a little time to regroup so that they could talk about it.
I felt so bad for my mom. She had 3 sisters and this was her last living sister.

I am so sorry to hear about your aunt passing away. It must be a very sad time for your mother in particular. You had to come home from your trip one day early. It was considerate that you didn't find out on Thanksgiving. Best wishes to you and your family at this sad time.

Thank you very much.. I just kept thinking that I have 2 sisters. And how awful it would be if they were both gone. To be sister-less.

I have one older sister in California and seldom see her.
I would be lost when she passes away as well.
She calls a few times yearly as well as I call her a few times also.
The calls are always on Holidays as well too.
I have not seen her in over 5 years now.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

There were 9 all together. She has 2 living brothers and she is the only living girl. She is a very strong willed woman and a fighter. She fights very hard to live.
I have said for a few years now. That my mom is the strongest woman I know.

I was trying to decide which discussion to start first the sad part or the happy, I went with the sad first. That way I can move on from there.
I was not very Close to this Aunt ( Aunt Virginia )still feel very bad about it.. how Odd that I was in the State Virginia when my Aunt Virginia passed away.
Thanks so much for your sympathies, they are really appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear of your aunts passing.. I can imagine how your mother feels also, please give her my sympathies.. My mother passed away a year ago last Feb and she was the last of the sisters to pass on.. I do remember hurting for my mom every time that she lost one of her family members as they were dwindling down to nothing.. There were so few of them left and I do know that she hurt horribly bad about it.. It is sad when we start getting older an losing our family members, it is sad but a fact of life, if we live long enough, we will all go through it.

I'm am so sorry for you and your family; especially your mom! I remember when my mother's last sister passed away (she had 2 sisters). She was terribly upset.
But, for this to happen on Thanksgiving Day of all days! It's not something anyone in your family will ever forget. At least, Thanksgiving doesn't fall on the same date every year. It's not much of a consolation, but it's something.
I wish I knew what to say at a time like this. I'm just so sorry for you! I guess the only thing to do is to make sure your mom is dealing with this as well as she can. When my only sister passed away, I was inconsolable for some time afterward. I'm sure your mom feels pretty much the same way about now.
Again, my sincerest condolences.

I'm sorry, I am only now seeing this discussion. I am very sorry for your loss and for your mother's loss. That must be just awful to lose a sibling. I am an only child so I will never know that loss, but there are several family members and friends that I have lost over the last several years and I know it hurts very much. I am glad that you at least got to have Thanksgiving without hearing the news. Again, I am sorry to hear such sad news, and during the holidays no less.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Louise. I too had a loss. It was Friday, my great uncle. I visited with my great aunt Helen last year. I hadn't seen her for probably 20 years and uncle Joe even longer than that. He had been ill for some time so it will be a blessing and relief for everyone after the mourning. I received the call while traveling home on day two, from visiting my father in law. Send my regards to your mother.

Hi louise~I'm sorry about your Aunt Virginia. I know that you
said she wasn't well and I am so sorry that she passed away.
My thoughts and prayers go out to your family, especially to
your Mom. That was a terrible way to have to remember
Thanksgiving. And I'm sorry your vacation was cut short too.
But, now your Mom needs you so do the best you can to be with
her and your family. Do take care and may God Bless you and
your family. I will say a prayer for all of you.

Well that is life. I'm sorry to hear that for your aunt. All of us will go to dust as we all came from dust.
It's sad to lost a family member especially in a holiday were we suppose to enjoy a little vacation and enjoy bonding.
