How can we get the children of today to pull up there pants? I have seen neighborhoods where young men are wearing there pants down beneath there bottom cheeks, is this a cry for help? Do our young men not know better? It is a sad thing watch young men all around thinking that is cool. It like they have had no home training. What is so sad is that they feel they can do anything and the way of showing it is by showing there underwear. I think we need to constantly speak to them about it. It is not proper, it is not hood, it is stupid. I have control my oldest and he have not the desire to wear his pants like that and he is 19 and is in college. My 13 has the desire to be a so called hard kid but he still don't attempt to wear his pants down, I constantly stay on him about how stupid it looks and what wrong with the mind set of the people that wear there pants like that. Do they not know that this is saying to the world, my butt is out come and get it.

I think it looks ridiculous. I think it is a sign of immaturity. It is definitely not a sign of professionalism, and I would not hire anyone who came in looking for a job if they had their pants half-way to their knees like that. I would put their application in the filing cabinet in a folder marked in a way that I would know not to hire anyone out of this folder, then I would discard it after the required 90-day period for which employment applications must be kept. Why any business owner would hire someone who shows up for an interview looking like this is beyond me...
I think this way of wearing the pants is actually linked to people getting out of prison. The clothes prisoners are required to wear are pretty much generic sizes of "Small", "Medium", "Large", etc. They don't usually fit very well, so I think the people get used to wearing them this way while in jail, and buy their clothes to fit accordingly when they get out. Other young people see it and think it makes them look cool when they were them that way, so the young people wear their own clothes the same way.

When I was a manager in a store I told the employees under me that if they did not pull up their pants they would be in violation of the dress code. They would argue that their shirt was tucked in and they were dressed appropriately. Nonetheless the first time someone was sent home was the last time it happened. Many of these young guys know that the sagging pants originated from prison. Their argument is that they are not gay so it doesn't apply to them and it doesn't fit right all the way up there. Are you kidding me? So I asked do you buy your pants by your waist size or your hip size? They think it makes them look "gangsta" with it down and having to keep pulling it up. I am well aware that it is a "fashion statement" of this era. However, it is very offensive. I am tired of looking at these teenager's underwear!!! Because it is not just the young men it is the young ladies who want to be gangsta doing the same crap. The sad thing is the more the rappers promote it the longer it will be around.
