Are you watching holiday movies now?

Which holiday movies are you sure to watch this season? Which have you seen already this season? We just went out and bought the first 2 Home Alone movies because the rental store was out of them. We watched one over the weekend, but have not watched the second yet. Friday the school is putting on a movie night and showing the Polar Express. I'll be taking the kids. Santa will be there as well handing out gifts, I wonder what they will be. We'll probably also watch the Grinch, both the cartoon and the live action versions. Hubby and I usually watch the Adam Sandler movie 8 Crazy Nights every year too.

Hi, katsmeow. I just watched the Grinch last night. It was fun. I have to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" several times this time of year. It is one of those movies that never seems to get old. My husband adores "The Christmas Story" (1983) so we watch that several times each year too. Actually, you can pretty much say that I never miss an opportunity to watch a Christmas movie once December rolls around.

I've seen the Christmas story, but don't think I can sit through it again, and I've never seen it's a wonderful life. I like the more modern movies, but that's just me. I'm young, lol.

My daughter and I enjoy spending the weekends watching the holiday movies on Family Channel and Lifetime. Last weekend we watched Home Alone 3 and 4. I didn't even realize they had that many. We also taped Dennis The Menace Christmas and will probably watch that one next weekend. I love watching holiday movies this time of year:)

I didn't realize there was a 4th Home Alone. I don't always like watching the specials on TV because I hate commercials. If I see something on TV that I want to see I'll rent it instead so I don't get commercial interruptions! Plus the TV cuts some of it out to save time too :(

I know, i hate commercials. Whenever possible, I will dvr a movie so I can watch it in less time. Yep there is a Home Alone 4. It was good too! I was surprised I had never heard of it either. It had the same crook as in the first one with the boy named Kevin like the first one.

Oh you know, I may have heard about it, or seen part of it or something, I just can't remember that well. I'll have to look into renting it or something.

Home Alone movies are classics. My family loves those. We have both of them. We will definitely watch Christmas Vacation and the Grinch cartoon too. I miss those old time Christmas classics like Charlie Brown and Frosty. I think my favorite was Rudolph, narrated by Burl Ives. I guess I'm really showing my age now

Frosty and Rudolph are classics, still being shown now adays. Although I do wish they'd update them a bit, you know. They can do so much more now with computer generations and such, that I think they can do a far better job, so I wish they'd try. They redid the Grinch and they was an awesome movie. So why not Frosty and Rudolph and some of those others?

I agree they should do some re-makes. I'd be glued to the TV for a new animated Rudolf movie LOL

Polar Express is one of our favorites!! We used to own it, but the kids make a point of destroying every DVD we have, they make great toys apparently, lol.

Yes, we've been watching Christmas movies in our house. We just watch the ones on ABC Family and on Lifetime. There have been a lot of good ones on this year. We always watch It's a Wonderful Life because that's my favorite movie. We haven't watched it yet this year but we will probably watch it this weekend. I've already told my husband that it's time to watch it soon because Christmas will be here next week. Wow, this month has really flown by...this whole year has really flown by.

I saw one holiday movie, "Three Days" this year that I'd never seen before even though it's an older movie, 2002 or somewhere around there if I remember correctly. I always watch "The Christmas Shoes" at least once and there are a few others I'll recognize when I see them on the TV listings. Believe it or not, I still haven't seen "Christmas Story" so I've put it on my "Must Do" list for this year. Of course, I usually catch "It's a Wonderful Life". "Noel" was recommended to me by a friend so I have that scheduled to record on my DVR for next week one day. Annie

Hello katsmeow, We haven't watch any holiday movies this month. Holidays seems dull this year because of the economic crisis. I guess we should enjoy what we have today and let tomorrow take care of itself. I have not seen the Adam Sandler movie 8 Crazy Nights, I'll try to check it out this week and rent some holiday movies to bring it the festive mood. I haven't check out the movies coming this month and so I don't have any idea what are the coming holiday movies. I guess it's better to check the cinema or the video shop. Regards.

I like the Santa Claus movies too. We saw the first on TV while hubby was out buying the Home Alone movies, then we started to watch the 2nd, but turned it off for Home Alone. We may end up buying all 3.

I don't imagine we'll get any movies special for the season at all. We don't have TV but we do watch the occassional DVD via the computer. Perhaps I'll see if we can swap a few with neighbours over the school holiday though, just to give us a bit of a change whilst the weather is bad.

I am watching a lot of the Christmas shows on the Lifetime Channel and on the Hallmark Channel.. These are what my husband refers to as girly movies, so I watch them alone.. We also watch Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase every Christmas, but again, we also watch it at least once in the summer, it is my favorite.

I will probably watch the Santa Clause I,II, and III (I own all of them). I will probably also watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I also really love the movie Love Actually which isn't really a Christmas movie, but it's centered around the holidays. I would also like to suggest The Family Stone (Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker), it's a really good comedy with a lot of big names that I really enjoy and centers around everyone coming home for Christmas.

Yes, The Holiday is centered around Christmas. We own this one, and it's a favourite for myself and my daughter.

I did not enjoy the Family Stone, and I've never seen Love Actually. I prefer the classic Christmas movies, and the ones that the whole family can watch. I forget, is The Holiday a Christmas movie? I think it is centered around Christmas. You'd probably like that if you haven't seen it yet.

We started watching last night. The 1st one we watched was Shrek the Halls. My daughter really likes it. It came out last year. I wasn't impressed, but the kids liked it. Then we watched the Dr Seuss classic the Grinch with Boris Karloff narrating. Even my hubby came in the room for that one.

I'm with you. There are some Lifetime movies that are great. I had to go searching around this morning just to come up with some of the titles. The one I really like is "Borrowed Hearts" it has Roma Downy, where she's a single mother who agrees to move in with her boss for a week because he told some business partners that he was married and had a child. It's really cute. Another one that I like is the movie "A Christmas List". I don't know if it will be on this season or not, but it's about a woman who puts her Christmas wishlist in Santa's mailbox at the department store and everything comess true. It's really cute. If you can find it, I definitely recommend it!

I've been watching all the seasonal movies on the Hallmark Channel on television. We will probably watch the Grinch again sometime during the season. My daughter's kids have that movie. I have a Christmas movie with Tim Allen, The Santa Clause. I tried to get the kids to watch it Thanksgiving, but they had other things to do. I love that movie! Some of the movies I've seen this season I've seen before, but the good ones never lose their appeal to me.
