Before the kids go on a Xmas vacation, I will be showing the Polar Express movie to them. My students will be wearing their PJs to school ( also me and my assistant), they will have hot chocolate , and as souvenir, they will receive a small bell just like in the movie. I will be setting up the classroom to make it look like they are boarding a train. They will have ticket to the train also. I am very excited about this. I am sure the students will enjoy it. and realize that Santa is indeed real for those who believe. have you watched the movie? What lessons did you learn from it?

What a wonderful teacher you are! To put so much creativity into teaching your students. It sounds like a wonderful experience that you are setting up for them. I LOVE The Polar Express movie. It demonstrates how belief in anything is personal and unique to the individual.

I think its great for your students to watch the movie. Its one of my must see movies every year and have it on DVD to view anytime. The message I get from the movie is anything can happen, if you really want it bad enough. It might not happen quickly. Many people give up easily, so you really need to work hard for each of your goals.

I agree with you. If you believe in yourself, and believe everything is possible, then it surely will.

Ohmigosh, that is so cute. Can I come? You'll need help serving the hot chocolate, right? I have watched the movie. I learned it was all about believing! What age do you teach, Katrhina?

We take my sons to this movie every year. THe IMAX near our home shows it in 3D an it's amazing. and we will also be going to ride the actual train ride through the Grand Canyon this year also. My oldes child is 8 and I know he is beginning to question, but this movie always seems to bring him back to believing that Santa is real! This movie has taught me the important of childhood innocence and trust. It also shows how quickly it can be lost. It's a wonderful movie with a wonderful message.

Yeah right. the message of the movie brings us back to childhood, when we believe in our hearts that Santa is real.

I saw this movie a couple of years ago. It is a wonderful movie and I applaud you for arranging this showing for your students. The Polar Express is a journey of self-discovery for a boy at Christmastime waiting upon Santa's sleigh, but who instead embarked on an extraordinary train ride going to the North Pole. It shows the doubting young boy (and everyone who watches the movie) that for those who believe, the wonder of life never fades. I'm not sure if there is a sublime Christian message to this movie, since it is made for Christmas, that the wonder of life never fades for those who truly believe in Christmas (the Christ of Christmas who came into this world to give hope and life to the world). God bless ~ Victor

I loved reading this book when I was a kid. When I saw the movie I was telling my husband all about the book. He never read the book (I couldn't believe it LOL). I had to see the movie and I really loved it. My kids enjoyed it too. Thats cool what you are doing with the kids. I know my daughter would love it if her school did something like that. Heck I would have loved it if my school did that when I was a kid. I think the lesson I got from it is if you believe in yourself and others, you can make anything happen.

You did all of that by yourself? That's amazing! I watched the movie but not all of it because I only saw it while flicking the switches on the remote control. However, I learned that just because a movie was produced expensively, doesn't mean that it will appeal to everyone - I heard that it didn't make much when it was released even though they went all out in production. I guess it lacked the x factor because it really seemed like "another Christmas movie". thanks for the comment on my discussion!
