Are replies/responses LIMITED?

I have a question: If you are part of a discussion started by someone else, and if you've already commented back and forth, two or three times... Is there a limit as to the number of responses you can make? The reason I'm asking is because I've been involved in the past, in at least one discussion where I had responded to the original question and then engaged back and forth a couple of times with the original poster, and then I COULDN'T respond to their last feedback anymore. It just wouldn't let me. But yet, If I tried commenting within someone elses response, within the same discussion, It WOULD let me post... So what's up with that? Does the person starting the discussion, have the right to limit your responses and feedback within their own discussion? And if that's the case, HOW IS IT DONE? Thanks...

I wasn't aware of any limit to the number of comments one can make (and I have seen several discussions where the comments are like a full length play!). It must be a MyLot thing, though. Maybe something to do with the amount of text that will fit on a page because, if you notice, there are 10 responses on a page regardless of how many comments are there and how long they are. I know that the person who started the discussion has no control over it.

Thanks for your very quick response.... Well, it is kind of weird. But nonetheless, it's true. I have been in other discussions where I've commented back and forth many more times without any problems... that's why this, somewhat has surprised me... And the weird thing is that if I were to try commenting on someone elses respond within the same discussion- it would allow me to post! I just could no longer do it within my own response... Strange Indeed... Thanks again.

I agree that it's weird. It could be a bug or just a natural limitation. A PHP programmer at MyLot would need to know the details of exactly what you were doing and in what discussion before he/she could investigate. MyLot is quite a large database and sometimes things go wrong, sometimes there just are limits that people rarely come up against.
