I bought an electrolysis machine call tough and go years ago but have never had the courage to use it and I do not know any one who has tried one. It says the hair removal is permanent and that scared me in case I stuffed it up.
Have you ever used one? Do they really work?

I bought one when I was younger and I tried it a couple of times. I hated it, because it was one where you had to put this fine needle thing into the hair follicle, and then it gave you a small electric shock. Well, neither the needle bit nor the shock bit was particularly pleasant, and it didn't loosen any of the hairs anyway! So after a few failed attempts I just gave up.
These machines probably work for some people, otherwise nobody would be selling them and claiming great things from them (or so I would suppose!), but it just didn't work at all on me. I much prefer to use my epilator. It's not permanent, but it's the best form of hair removal that I've come across!

Oh I am interested. The one I have has pads I can use for large areas such as legs etc so I would not have to put needles any where. I suppose I could try it on a leg where it is relatively harmless and tough and see if it works and if I can cope with it.
What is an epilator?

Ooh, sounds interesting, let me know if it works!
An epilator looks like a razor but instead of cutting the hairs it pulls then out very quickly, using lots of tiny rotating tweezers. It is comparable to waxing as the hair is pulled out at the root, and the effects last muc longer than shaving.
This article, by one my fellow hubbers, will tell you all about it:

Well I am too scared to wax any part of my body. I tried an epilator and they often just pull the hairs without actually pulling them out and that hurts. Still I should try the equipment and see if it works.
I would not have a problem with shaving except that I cannot understand why it causes so much itching as other areas do not do this.
