What are the benefits of watching Television? Does TV influence you?

Television has been a part of our lives, not only it gives us entertainment but it also gives us information like news, the current events, lifestyle updates, science & technology... and there's a lot to mention. But with all of that it has given us how do we utilize them as a part of our life? Do we just sit in front of the TV and stare?... Well in my own observation to what I have notice to other people when they talk about how TV has influence them in their lives, well most of them i've had conversation with are my friends at work, neighbors and some old friends. One thing is most common to their experience was they look at TV as window of what is going on in the community like fashion (what's in thing) it is where they are influence to wear those fancy clothing, gadgets, and more about fashion. Some of them also look at TV as a window of how they feel and I also that learn that "TeleNovela" is more popular than a news channel. In some part of south america, especially in asia one is the korean TV drama, where drama has been pastime habit or has become an addiction, then comes the TV series in the United States that has a huge influence around world.. To name some of the popular TV series, there's Grey's anatomy, Lost, Heroes, Prison Break, Smallville.. and more!!. And looking to their success it only proves that more people are watching television all over the world. Well to sum up all of these discussion, It is a fact that TV has given us ways to enjoy life right at our own home for our family to enjoy without having to go outdoor... and some how I see how it has influence us how to live our lives.
