i can't sleep in the afternoon. even if i try. i learned from a naturopath that 8 to 10 hrs of sleep AT NIGHT is good for the health. Eat dinner at 6 or 7 so that by 9, you'll only be thinking about sleeping. You're not supposed to sleep with a full stomach. So at least take 2 hours prior to sleeping. She didn't say anything about afternoon naps. Besides with all her patients emailing her all day, she definitely couldn't doze off in the afternoon from all that responsibility right?

yes, i am taking afternoon naps these days and i find it more useful than my night sleeping. i sleeo lesser these days at night but the after nap is necessary to recharge and refresh my body. i would take about an hour daily in the after noon about 2-3 pm and then i continue working again. also, it is a good rest for my eyes after long hours in front of the computer

I am a very go, go, go person and have a hard time taking a nap. I always have a list of things to do for the day and can't sleep knowing there are things around the house that need to be done. But, I am pregnant with my second child and find myself napping on days when I can. I'm tired most of the time and figure I better take advantage before the new baby arrives.

if i didn't get enough sleep or i had a rough morning like hellish meetings, heavy workload..etc then i'll take a short afternoon nap. It usually won't last more than 3 hours. After that i'll feel refreshed and rejuvenated and head back to work.
As far as the health concerned, i am not really sure about that. I had heard from other people that afternoon nap is not good for health. Maybe that's just a tale. But i do experienced headache after the afternoon nap too.

Yeah....You can't really have a nap if you have classes in the afternoon. I do think that people shouldn't encourage themselves to have a nap as an usual habit cause it will make them sleepy when they are at work or in class and certainly make them hard to focus on what they do.

I just love to sleep, but only at home on MY bed, this is very important ie. to sleep on my bed. If I am at home during the week ends I wd take a nap and would prefer to bush off all distractions. Hmmmmm... I dont get a headache but yes, sleeping in the day time even for an hour makes me wide awake at night. I think a nap is good for my health because it makes me feel happy...lolzzzz

Yes!! I cannot get through the day without at least one nap. I have chronic fatigue syndrome which gives me very bad sleep disorders that make it hard to stay asleep and hard to wake up and no matter how much I sleep I am always tired.
There is nothing wrong with having a nap at all. In fact it is very good for you to nap when you are tired. I know there are some people who argue that it sets up bad sleep patterns but a power nap when you really need it is better for you than trying to struggle through the day tired.

I do take nap, provided I'm at home. I can't just sleep at any place, like for example at the office, I maybe closing my eyes and pretended sleeping but deep within I'm wide awake and just observing. Well, at home, I surely take a good sleep at nap time. The cool breeze and the natural ambience of the surrounding creates a lullaby for me to sleep about 2-3 hours during nap time.

I do feel sleepy in daytime, but can seem to sleep early in the night. With the hot sunny weather here, it makes me sleepy and wanna have a nap even more, especially after a fine nice lunch.....hahaha....I think I'm hopeless to get rid of this bad habit in the near furture.....hahaha.... :)

I seldom take naps in the afternoon unless I am sick. If I take naps under normal conditions, yes, I can fall asleep, but I'll wake up feeling groggy and dizzy. I'd also feel more tired than before. 'sides, if I take naps, I would sleep for at least 2 hours, which kinda makes me waste my 2 hours of time when I can use that 2 hours to do something else, something more useful...
