I was just looking at the Wikepedia - the free encyclopedia and decided to search for the meaning of my name. This is what was written:
Nora, or Norah (Arabic: ????), is a feminine personal name of Arabic origin meaning "light". The root word Noor (Arabic: ???) could be also a feminine and masculine name. It has also similar Latin origin meaning "the bright one" or "honor".
There are a lot of famous people also by the same name. Then there is an English movie too. And a hardcore band.
What does your name mean? Indian names are also there on this online encyclopedia. Just go there and see what meanings are given for your name. Even if you have used a different name here just check and see if there is any meaning to that too.

Hello, mayka123.
Eduardo, with related names like Edward, Eduarda, Edu and Duarte. In Wikipedia, it means that I am the fortune guardian. Hmm... I had already heard about the meaning of my name somewhere, just cannot remember. I guess it was when I was small, on a book that was talking about it, I got curious and went straight to read the meaning of my name.
Now, I tried searching Munhozmib. Guess what? No results. Munhozmib was created by me, and although it doesn't sound pretty good, I like it. It is now matching me. Munhozmib. The Mister M, hehe. I created it for lack of usernames to use in Hotmail.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Munhoz is my surname. I needed to create a Hotmail account, a couple of years ago. I believe around 6 years ago. And I had no way to create one good name, all were taken (imagine by today, then). My cousin then told me to create MunhozMIB. He is also a mib. My brother used to be a mib. It is just like an additional name to make it compatible with MSN.

Well that’s beautiful and an ancient name too. My name Sudipta does not actually mean anything but is rather an expression of quality. Sudipta means someone who is brightly lit or brightly lights up something

As most of my friends know my real name and I often use it in my posts, my name is 'Deepak', which means - a small earthern lamp, which is lit with the help of oil and cotton, when lit it gives light to surrounding areas. I was the first one in the next generation to be born in my joint family, so I was given this name by one of the elders in the family, hoping that I will bring light in the life of others and I do the same.
How interesting it is - your and my name has somewhat similar meaning!!! We try to bring light in the life of others.
I love my name and would not like to change it.

I have two first names. The first one is a popular name throughout the world and have various origins and meanings:
Egyptian-"eminent lady" or "beloved lady"
Assyrian Aramaic-"sour ocean"
Latin-"[the] sea"
While my second first name is a Spanish word meaning solitude or loneliness.
With those two put together and looking at the meaning of each, one would say that my name has a pretty bleak meaning.
But I dont mind Im used to it.^_^

My name is Maria Rosario. My parents are very religious so my name has something to do with our religion. Maria is Mary in English. All of my sisters also have Maria on their first names. Rosario is Rosary in English. They chose that name because my birthday is near the birthday of Mother Mary.

Well, my name is Juner. It sounds like the name being searched by the song "aubrey"- but where was June?(sweet). I don't know the meaning of my name or why it was named to me. But my mother said it was because I was born in June 20, 1984. I am a Gemini. I think it is a unique name and a rare one. My big brother said it was named to me because my cousin, my uncle, my grandpa, and big brother's birthday was all in the month of june and my name is a name to remember our birthdays.

I've been given different meaning of my name "Sue" over the years, one being "Life giving Water", I can't for the life of me remember where that came from. I am inclined to think it was a possibly a Greek meaning, possibly Arabic. I'm not sure.
But I did look at a website, not the one you suggested Nora, and was surprised to see that my name, "Sue" means "Lily" and of course, is American. The site is Meaning-of-Names.com. It also includes names and meanings from India, Africa, Hebrew and more.
They have "Nora" meaning "light", and it comes from many origins!
