You mean to say you want one of us or some of us myLotters to stand in for your interviewees? And give our opinions on "curriculum" as one or some or all of those imaginary interviewees? Whatever be the case I am attempting the question as I understand it. See if it is useful for you. Def: Curriculum: A plan or program of study including a choice of subjects of study, the extent and depth of coverage of topics of study under each subject of study (This part of the curriculum is called syllabus) An Elementary Teacher's Point of view: The textbook to be used for a given subject, the number of lessons to be taught, the number of periods per week and the number of tests to be given to the students. Non-Education Major Student: The subject of study. The textbook or textbooks to be followed. The syllabus for the prescribed level of examination. The number of hours of classroom study. The number and frequency of tutorials. The number of hours of self or home study. The homework part. Education Major: EM looks at curriculum more from the pedagogical POV. Pedagogy = Teaching Style with a view for better or best reception by student. That means how a subject must be introduced and taught to have the greatest impact on the mind and understanding of the student. For instance, is it better to teach some 3-D Coordinate Geometry before Vectors are introduced or is it better to run 3DCG and Vector Analysis as Parallel Courses. Whether the best way is to introduce a subject first as a practical experiment or an anecdote and get on to the theoretical aspects of the Teaching Modules? The teaching Module Plan itself is of great importance. College Student: The syllabus prescribed for the study of a particular subject. Which subjects need more teacher/tutor intervention and which can be mananged on one's own. What will be the examination Question patterns like. Whether the pattern will be followed reasonably repeatably year on year;Whether an Open Book form of examination is in vogue or it is the same old closed book pattern. Does that answer your question or is it off the mark?
