Are you really happy or just pretend to be happy?

Are you happy? Are you really happy? Living in today's society, sometimes it's needed to put on a mask which protects yourself. But with this mask, what others see is not the real person you really are. When someone tells a not funny joke, you still laugh because all the people around you are laughing. You have to treat a person nicely who you hate indeed. And do you remember the last time when you laugh from your sincere heart? Have you ever feel unhappy when in other's eyes you maybe look happy? Do you pretend to be happy?

To me, pretending to be happy is an important thing to do, that is, when the situation calls for it. We can't reveal our true emotions all the time. If we do so, then we will have a big problem interacting with the people around us. We need to be able to adjust our expressions to suit the situation that we're in. Psychologically, pretending to be happy is a step towards being happy for real. It does not guarantee it, but it is a stepping stone towards happiness. If you look around you, those who are unhappy are usually those who always dramatically express their sadness to others, those who always try to get other people to have sympathy for them, those who always talk about things that make them sad, those who always talk about how miserable their lives are and those who talk about the problems that they have in life. They never try to be positive, and never try to make themselves feel happy. Those kind of people will be unhappy for the rest of their lives. It's important to try to be happy even if you are not, to try to make things work, and to try to be happy with other people who are, despite the problems that you have in life. It's more important to focus on solving what ever problems you have, instead of constantly bragging about it. When you're focused on trying to get yourself to feel happy, you will eventually be happy for real. All of us, as human beings, have so much potential in life. It's a great shame if all we do in life is being unhappy. Be happy, and go for your dreams, strive for that success, and live life.

I don't quite agree with your opinion that pretending to be happy is the step toward being real happy. I have no idea of Psychology, but if someone pretend to be happy, what his action brings is just the sadness and unbalanced life, which I think is the opposite side of the real happiness. This is only my opinion.

I am not really happy but I have to pretend that I am happy because if I am sad, people around me will be sad also. In addition, if I am not happy then my job will suffer as well and I will feel the burden of my job even more.

I am not happy. Life is not on the rose bed. It's naturally that we may unhappy sometimes. But the problem is that we have to conceal the sadness in certain situation. As the time going, we seldom feel happy. We feel lost of the real personality. So, it's difficult to know a person deeply. Because most of the people disguise themselves. I can't remember when I have laughed from my sincere heart. But I think in a quiet place, I feel easy to think about myself and find real myself. It's the place I can relax a little bit.
