Now that the shopping frenzy over the holiday weekend is over, how did all the Etsy shop owners here on myLot fare? Let's here about how your shop did? Anyone with any sales? Did you even get any hearts or an increase in views?I'll start it off....
I added a couple of items heading into Thanksgiving. One sold the day before Turkey-Day. I had another item purchased on Black Friday and a 3rd item sold on Cyber Monday. I don't think I had a lot of views, despite doing a bit of promoting, but I did add several hearts on individual items and in my shop. Hopefully these hearts will turn into a future sale of two.
It seemed like there were an awful lot of shop owners promoting quite frequently throughout the entire weekend and the threads I promoted in, seemed to get buried to the second and third page within minutes and I was lucky to even receive a view in the threads I promoted in... the good thing about promoting was 2 of the 3 sales I made were made because of the promoting I did.
Things went much better over the holiday weekend, than the first yr... maybe I learned from my experience last yr.
So let's here fromthe rest of the shop owners on Etsy... how did your shop fare over the holiday weekend?

I checked out your page, Robin - gorgeous stuff! I love sea glass (growing up near the beach will do that to you). Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy today, but I bookmarked you because there's at least one piece there that just screams my daughter's name - and I also forwarded the URL to my daughter, since I know she's looking for unique natural jewelry all the time. Your prices are so reasonable too! Glad I checked it out!

Thank you for nice compliments! And also for forwarding the link to your daughter. I try to keep my prices as low as possible when it comes to my sea glass creations. I have come across pieces very similar to mine and was practically floored when I saw the price tag!
I know sea glass is becoming scarce, but charging $100+ for a piece of wrapped sea glass is a bit outrageous. Sea glass has suddenly become very popular and I enjoy seeing the faces on some of my 1st time customers when they see they can afford to buy a piece of sea glass jewelry. I've had customers send me pictures of them wearing their jewelry or emails about some of the compliments they receive.
My favorite experience selling sea glass jewelry cam last yr at a craft show. Almost a yr ago, there was a young boy, about 7 or 8 who came by my table several times looking at a pair of blue sea glass earrings I made. I knew he wanted to buy them and kept talking to his Mom, who just smiled and talked with him. Eventually, after making the rounds at the show, he came back and asked if he could buy the earrings. He pulled the money out of his pocket, paid for them and had the biggest smile on his face when he left, showing the earrings to his Mom. As he walked off to talk with a couple of his friends that were also at the show (it was a school show- one set up for the children to buy items for teachers, family, school aides, etc) and his Mom stopped at the table to let me know that he bought the earrings for his older sister, who loves sea glass. He spent more money than she hoped he would (money he earned raking leaves all fall)but when he saw the price of the earrings, he really wanted to buy them for her. She mentioned that other shows they had been to, the sea glass was so expensive. It was really rewarding to see how proud he was to have spent his money on something that would thrill his older sister and especially see how proud the mother was of her young son. The girl sent me an email after the holidays last year, letting me know that the earrings were the best present she received and she wears them all the time.
I was very happy to witness all of that... it's still a touching story and I'm hoping to see that little boy this year at the same show (I have a little gift for him)
Thanks again for your compliments and also for responding!
