We watched that here as well. My family was here for thanksgiving and all of us viewed and enjoyed the movie. we had some problem with the TV reception during part of the movie, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. It was a great choice for Friday night.I think it is rapidly becoming a holiday classic.

I saw that movie last year and loved it, too! I was very surprised at how much I liked it. Animated movies aren't really my thing, but I adored Polar Express!
As for other movies, I can only suggest the old favorites like A Christmas Story, What a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, things like that.
As for animated Christmas movies for children, I found a pretty good website that lists a bunch of them: http://www.littlethingscount.com/cf/cfchristmasanimated.htm It has a lot of the old, familiar animated Christmas stories on it.

I was very impresseed with that one. But I have to say that my all-time favorite is Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. (You know, Bumbles bounce!) I love the Island of Misfit Toys. And another I like is Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I remember watching them when I was young and I still enjoy them! They're a tradition!

I have to add, I also really enjoy the holiday movies, especially the ones like The Santa Claus with Tim Allen. They come out with some really 'feel good' ones any more!

I have seen it with my son a few times. I actually bought him the DVD a few years ago. He normally only watches it around this time of year. I find myself watching A Christmas Story every year at least once. I think that is a love it or hate it movie. I personally love it.

The computer animation in that movie is incredible! The author of the original book grew up in my hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan (I no longer live there). The store that they pass by in the movie really existed. Herpelsheimers had a christmas train in the basement of the store. I went there once during the Christmas season with my mom when I was a little girl. The basement held the toy department. You could visit Santa there. Around the top of that floor up by the ceiling was a child sized train that hung from the ceiling and went all the way around the room. I rode in that train! The building now houses the police department and I don't know if the train exists anywhere now. I have heard that this train is the inspiration for the movie!
My all time favorite Christmas movie is Rudolph. The lesson of "we won't like you and your freakish nose until it comes in handy for us" is not exactly a good one!But I love it anyway!
