I would love hear tips from you all about how to have a cheap but thoughtful Christmas. Like many others here we are going to have a skimpy Christmas this year. My oldest daughter is 16 and she is very aware of our financial situation and she suggested we do something for others! I am so proud of her for thinking of others and that makes me want to do something for her. I was thinking that it would be nice for us to do something for others around us but to also do something for each other. I know that I am not the only one who would be interested in this so please share your tips with everyone! I have a couple of tips. Take a Jar like those mason jars or something like that. Fill it with Journal starters. Eg I am happy today because.., One thing that makes me sad is... , My hero is... ect. see what I mean. Fill the jar with these.. Ideally you want to have 365 so it is one for each day of the year. You can decorate the jar if you want. If you can afford it you can give this jar with a book and maybe a really cool looking pen that would be especially for this journal. A journal jar is a great way to encourage your child to journal. That is a gift that keeps giving throughout the year. Also another cheap but cute gift idea is to look at garage sales for a vinegar cruet then give that with a bottle of dish detergent. The cruet is pretty way to have your dish detergent on your counter! Better than the bottle of detergent. I would love to hear some tips from you!
