she has a beauty shop in town. yesterday, some skateboarders were skating around her shop and one almost knocked her down while she was sweeping out front. she has told them many times to skate elsewhere plus its against the law for them to skate there. the one big kid got really rude with her and she pushed him with the broom. she is a little 64yrs. gal. he said he was calling the law on her since hes only 16. so SHE called the law then herself, which shes done many times already since they wont stop.. the police came out and was very rude to her. they gave her some kind of code to she wants me to look up. shes just been sick all night and upset about it. she asked me to look up the code but i dont know how. does anyone know how to look up codes for law enforcement? please help

This is awful I feel really sorry for you friend. Those kids need taught a lesson not her. A lot of children these days are behaving like this. They should not of been doing that yesterday and they should of not give back cheek to their elders either. I looked this up. Read it and see if you can find anything to help on there. Good luck and I hope your friend is OK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_of_Federal_Regulations

Can't say as I blame her for being upset! This is really terrible! There are probably many ways you could look up codes. You could certainly try on the government's website. I'm not sure about the American one, but I do know that the Canadian Criminal Code is in pocket book form. There are probably many ways you can check up on that. I hope your friend feels better.

hi bunny, sorry about your friend......i hate when cops get a "god complex" and are rude, especially to an elderly honest business owner. you can try this site i found. look on the left side and you'll see "public and private laws" why you're at it maybe you should try to find the code for the law against riding skateboards in front of businesses. hope this helps.....good luck.

Well, you can't strike or push people because of just this reason. You can never really tell if the kid is connected to someone on the police force or not. An uncle, a brother, a dad.. etc... and the broom technique probably makes her come across in a bad light with the kids too, making them less likely to feel they should stop. If she has a shop and skateboarders are a problem on the street, she could get together with the rest of her neighbors and contact the police department together. That would make her point harder to ignore. Furthermore, being 64 years old, she should suggest that being knocked down by rude and careless skateboarders is a real danger to her and her customers. A broken hip, for example, might force her to close shop (depending on the type of shop and some other details I'm not privy too.) Her shop brings in tax revenue. This makes her more important than the kids on skateboards. She has aldermen or the mayor she could contact. She has assets and resources that the kids do not. All she has to do is find the people to make noise. Generally, the police want quiet. If it is harder to quiet the people she agitates, they will go after the skateboarders. Video cameras also can be helpful. If she can record people on the street being bumped into or falling because of the skateboarders she can complain that falls on her property will be claims on her insurance. Alternately, she could support a skate park area being built to give the kids a place to skate that would be more fun than her sidewalk. This can be hard to sell, because the lady probably doesn't want to do any favors to the rude skateboarders. However, it seems to me that it would be more important to get them off her sidewalk than to worry about getting even. Another idea to investigate is how to make her sidewalk unappealing to skateboarders legally. You cannot present a tripping hazard to your customers, of course. Yet, if you could put heavy mats down to provide additional traction and safety for pedestrians in front of your shop, then it might provide a less pleasant surface for skateboarders to cross.

That is just aweful what happend to her how could those creeps be like that? As for the police to be rude to her I thought there saying was " To protect and serve " dosn't sound like they were doing either one to me. As for this code she was told about what is the code give it and I will ask a friend that is a cop here in my town he'll know what it means. I do hope she get's this whole mess resolved and soon for she dosn't deserve that.

the strange thing is, when my son found it, it said she had a right to complain if skateboarders were in front causing problems so, i dont see why they were being hateful with her. these cops in Pheonix area think they are God because of our sheriff Arpiao he thinks hes God

I have no idea how to look up codes. Why don't you call the police station and ask about the code? In my community the police are very helpful and receptive to people in need of help with such things. I would hope that yours is also. Ask them if there is a place online where you can go and if not who would you speak to about such a code.
