I do fake it all the time. It's not because I don't want people to worry because it is because I feel they don't care in the first place and nobody wants to be around someone who is gong to bring them down. Sometimes I am just afraid to be open about my feelings because I don't want people to mad or me or I don't want to hurt their feelings. The sometimes I have to fake it in front of my daughter because she so easily picks up on when I'm sad and she gets down. She's too young to take on my burdens so I try to hide some of them from her.

I am really sorry you feel that way. Of couurse it is sad that you are probably right, but let me be the one to tell you that it isn't entirely true. In just reading your comment my heart went out to you. I hope you have someone in your life that you can talk to. and even though it is a bit impersonal, if there isn't anyone you can talk to me. :o)

That is so sweet of you. Actually most of the support I do get is from strangers, some who eventually become friends. I am finding it therapeutic to be on this group as well as a couple of other groups where I can just speak my mind, blow off steam, etc.

When I am depressed, I get out and mingle with people at an art opening or special event.
I quickly forget about want was upsetting me and the depression does not return until many days later when I repeat the process.

When I am depressed I just don't try to be depressed. I try my best to keep busy and do things a lot. If I get depressed and just think about it..it will just make me depress more. I do try to make my depression go away by finding solutions to all my worries one at a time. Not pouting on it..but taking my time.

Yes, I fake it. It doesn't work with those that know me well. i have learned to go ahead and confide in someone I trust so that it doesn't eat me alive. Then of coursespending a little time apart with God in praise and worship helps a great deal.
