Yoga has become universally popular. I too have joined a fitness club where yoga is being taught a year ago. Everyone can do yoga with simple basic postures. Not everyone can perform more advance and difficult postures that requires flexibility and strength. I for one cannot as my body is not flexible and my limbs are not strong. Practice makes perfect, though, only to those who can stretch, twist and bend without
too much of an effort. It can be a torture to our sift body. Also, for some religious aspect, many are restricted and shying away from practising yoga.

Yoga is a series of slow stretching movements designed to strengthen your muscles and lubricate your joints. Anyone can do it, but it takes time to develop the flexibility necessary to do the advanced asanas. The stretching and bending is quite effortless if you take it a day at a time, and realize you will not become a Yogi within two or three weeks. Some religions (Roman Catholic for one) see yoga as a threat to their theology. Meditation and learning to "look within," tends to show the naked truth to the student. This, the Church cannot tolerate!

Hi, good morning from me. I presume you must have been practising yoga for sometime, that you have developed the flexibility to do the advanced asanas. I usually do the simple and slow stretching asanas, and will advance with more difficult asanas. Yes, yoga is effortless when practise on daily routine. There is this issue as yoga originated from India, and basically it is Hinduhism, some muslims and christians are shying away from it. I am of the opinion, just do the asanas which are beneficial to our bodily conditions, leave out the spiritual and meditation parts.

Practising yoga is quite fun though, many a times, the body got torture. The afterall benefits to our body worth it. Surely, our health will improve, becoming slim and internal organs function better. This of course in consistency. Go for it, if you are planning to join yoga classes. Initially, your body will ache for a couple of days/weeks, once your body has become accustomed to all the stretching, bending, and breathing, you will feel good.

I have tried yoga on the Wii Fit only, but I must admit I do like doing it.
In a gym it would be better as they can help you and give correct feedback on your posture and tell you what you need to do to improve it. It might be your balance, your strenght or your flexibility (or all three! ). The Wii can sense some of these things but not all and never as good as a trained professional.
My gym doesn't offer it but it would be nice to try it sometime.
