My husband is jealous of my relationship with my laptop and the Internet...

Just because I spend hours on end on my laptop surfing the web, my husband feels neglected. Just because I told him that my laptop (with the web) was the one thing I couldn't live without, he got upset! How can I comfort my hubby, letting him know that I still love him, but he'd better not touch my computer?

I know that wording can be off and make it seem as if, well, that it's crueler then it's really meant to be... So well, Try to console him as best you can. It appears a bit cruel to not allow him to touch the computer.

Don't get me wrong, Cowgirl, he can touch the computer...just not for extended periods of time--only long enough to check his e-mail and Facebook account. LOL. I am just kidding, but this is his perception of how I act with my laptop. I don't think I'm that bad. :)

oh okay, I can see what your saying though... Guys, gotta love 'em, but they do tend to get easily offended, it's just misunderstanding then, huh?

You can tell him that while your laptop is the one THING you can't live without, he is the one PERSON you can't live without! I'm sure every couple has some issue about one or both partners spending too much time on something other than the relationship, be it work, a hobby, socializing with friends, etc. The best way to keep that issue from ballooning into something huge is to make sure you do devote enough time to the relationship so that your spouse doesn't feel so neglected -- hopefully you can do that without cutting too deep into your laptop time.
