Are you ever surprised by what you find in users' "interests" sections?

I fall in and out of love with MyLot, and during periods where I'm bored with discussion topics I might just jump in and check out what my MyLot friends are up to. I find the weirdest things in the Interests section!
I keep my interests section pretty clean, because I like that bar across the top to show discussions I might actually be interested in. No matter how many times I respond to "Life" discussions, I won't add it because most of the posts are dull. But I keep a couple weird things in there, I guess, to the casual observer!
I thought of this just now, I was checking out a very respectable poster who often comments / posts in Politics, and in his interests section was "Britney Spears", front row, center! It struck me as totally odd!! And made me oddly like the person more (however much I may despise Britney Spears!). That's kind of a bold statement!
Floating around MyLot, do you ever stop to look at people's interests? Ever find anything weird or out of place? Or am I really just a big cyberstalking dork?

Personally, I have never considered checking out others Interests sections. Even if they are friends of mine I guess this is just something that I have never considered. I know that there are a lot of different interests in here we can choose from, and you really never know what people might actually be interested in for sure. I am sure there are ones there in every persons profile that would be surprizing to know for sure.

That's what's so fun about it, I never mean to do it, it just happens! Sometimes I'll check out a friends page to see what discussions they are in, and I'll peek over and catch a totally odd interest!

It is a great way to learn about people... by checking out their MyLot interests! I definitely feel that my MyLot interests are an accurate representation of me. I don't think there's anything surprising in there, and I'm sure people who know me very well would agree. But maybe if someone didn't know me they might find something surprising. I'm not sure.

You know, I resisted having "MyLot" as an interest my first few months... but I've noticed "MyLot" discussions get the most responses!! I don't think I need two of them, though!

When I first joined, I didn't really realize what the interests were for. I sat and picked a million of them. Now, I regret doing that. I really need to go through and delete the ones I don't really care for. I haven't really spent much time looking at other people's interests.

I did the same thing you did, and then I edited the heck out of them a couple weeks later! I usually don't look at people's interests, that's why its so funny to me when you visit someone's main page and a totally weird interest just pops out... I don't know, I'm a nerd, but it really tickles my funnybone!

hi!
yeah, its a bit surprising that interest do not fall in the right category. and also there are topics or discussion that do not fall in the right interest. maybe other member are not just reading or do no know how to find the right interest wherein they can start a topic or discussion.
take care

Nah, nothing surprises me anymore! After I got into a debate with someone on here about the existence of aliens, and this person wanted to debate the bible about aliens, the shock factor just dwindled since then! So no, people can be straight weirdos but just as well intriguing!

Sorry for the delayed response!
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the kind of user you mention here has a really NORMAL interest listing... it's always the mild ones that end up being the strangest!

Yeah, I gotcha! Someone just brings something out of a hat on us, when we're thinking we're conversing with a "normal" individual, then come to find out they like tieing women up in their dungeon (basement), or she likes to pick scabs off of her neck or something outrageous Ok, maybe that's extreme, but I getcha
