We do celebrate the special events in our life. For birthdays I will cook a special meal that the person really likes plus bake a cake too. For anniversaries my husband and I will mostly go out for a meal together and these days it will be for lunch rather than the evening meal. The last day before our son leaves when he is going travelling, I will cook him whatever he wants for one last time before heading off. The same applies when he returns from his wandering. Easter we always have fish on Good Friday and generally a roast of some sort on the Sunday. Christmas we have seafood (prawns, oysters, lobster or crayfish) as our main meal rather than anything else.
