If you're still watching you TV with the rabbit ear antenna, your TV could go black in February 2009 for all U.S. households if your Tv doesn't have a digital tuner installed. Your television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after 17, 2009, to receive over-air broadcasts with antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. WHAT IS DTV? An advanced broadcasting technology that will transform your television viewing experience. DTV enables broadcaster to offer television with better picture and sound quality. It can also offer multiple programming choices, called multicasting, and interactive capabilities. Analog-only Tv's should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming Consoles, VCR s, DVD players, and similar products. If you want to learn more you can visit the FTC website at (www.dtv.gov), you can also request $40 discount coupons towards the purchase of a converter box, but I visited some of the stores like Walmart who sales them for under $40 dollars, it all depends on you taste and needs. Also, Hawaii Digital Transition is January 15, 2009.

Well, I have a TV which is almost 18 years old, and yes, this is the one with rabbit ear antenna. It doesn't even have a remote control. But, I'm not a USA resident, so I don't have to worry that my TV will go black.
