Everyone should be involved, including or despite government. The simplest and most doable one can do is to plant or to take care of a plant. A plant helps cool the environment and purify the air. Much, much better if one maintains a garden of vegetables and fruits that are needed by the family. Backyard or frontyard production of some of your food items will reduce the miles traveled by your food, thus helping reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere.
Millions of people doing this separately and simultaneously will have an impact on the environment.

I've long thought that the world is way too commercial.. that we are on some sort of mass production frenzy! But, I think there are warming and cooling cycles.. otherwise we'd still all be in an ice age (I figure). Unfortunately, I find myself always coming back to an old testament verse I read somewhere which says the degenerateness of the people, if/when they become degenerate, the land will turn to desert under the feet.. And I can see that many of the most ancient lands are now covered with sand.. (This is no reflection on one ethnicity or nation over another, they've just been at it, being human that is, for longer reaches of time.. another unfortunate is that I am very well acquainted with the book of revelation/apocalypse which does say there will be drought and shortage (verse 12:16 w/luke 23:26,28,31) disrupting the (loose) world peace man is able to attain...

environment is a worldwide problem.
You and me include more individuals can't change the worsening environment.
I think the key point is on the governments over all the world.
The governments should make some policies and measures to force the human to save the evergy and protect our environment.

An individual person can't do any thing. But if every body in the world think about this matter then it may solve at least little bit. But no body is taking care of these types of risks. Every country should participate in this matter so that we can handle the problem easily.

coolmailraj,
Recently I watched An Inconvenient Truth and I'm feeling pretty safe here in the US but am a bit worried about Europe. The movie helped me realize why all of that London Fog is hanging around and what's going to happen to it if Greenland melts away.
Of course individuals can do something to change it. We need to become as energy efficient as we can and reduce our individual carbon signatures. One practical way to do this is to get better gas mileage. Do some searching on the Internet about adding 100% pure acetone to your gas tank. It really does help.
Happy MyLotting!
