My favorite breed is the Mini Dachshund. It is such a huge clown trapped in such a tiny little body! I have three that were gifts to me from a breeder and each is such a different clown! Monica reminds me of a wind up dog. She goes full tilt all day long and then collapses beside me for a nice long nap. Katie is a THIEF! She will steal things and hide them in her bed. She also has a huge apatite for cat hair and fur of any kind. She'll steal my bedroom slippers and try to pluck them bald . The thing about Katie is she will steal the remote and I'll wonder why I put a particular program on, and then find that she has changed the channel. Little Bit is a very proper little boy. He will look at you so seriously, yet he is such a funny guy when it comes to making his bed or moving stuff out of his way. He seems more like a high paid CPA than a dog...yet he still has his moments of absolute clowning.
I've had Rottweilers and have loved them, as well as Royal Standard Poodles, Collies and German Shepards. I guess it amounts to whatever breed of dog I own at the time is my favorite.

Thank you sooo much for the best response! I am about to leave for work and I figured that I would check my email and myLot quickly. It sure makes the day so wonderful that someone thinks that my post was good. Thank you and Monica, Katie, Abby, and of course Little Bit are sending their woofs to you!
Abby, who is a Pitt/Lab mix, is staying with me while my best friend is going through a break up and divorce. She wants her dog where she will be loved and cared for, which is in my home. She is one of my children now, even though she is a foster child. It's so funny first thing in the morning to see a huge 70 pound dog followed by three 10 pound mini Dachshunds.
Thank you again for the best response, it sure has made my day!

Border Collie, these small black and white wolves are the most intelligent of dogs; capable of learning command words as fast as a human child!. They are tirelessly energetic, agile, affectionate and playful.

I am going to go with the Jack Russell, only because that is the dog we had when I was a child and we got on really well with that sort of dog.
I wouldn't choose that sort of dog ot have in our house today, only because they are very lively and yap a lot and we have two cats. The dog would have to sleep in the dining room with the cats so we would need a quite dog.

Well I would like to have a Short hair and legged Jack Russel Dog. I think they are cute and very loyal. I am sure they are tons of other dogs out there that I would enjoy just as much if given the chance. Right now i have a miniature Dalmatian.Pitt bull mix. She wouldn't run off many strangers since we broke her from biting and growling by swatting her with a newspaper when she was a puppy. She barks occasionally when the other dogs do but she is not a loud annoying dog like my neighbors whom have about 7-8 dogs.

Pugs. Definitely pugs. I'm a fan of most dog breeds (in fact, there isn't a single dog breed I don't like), but I have a special affinity for pugs. I don't know what it is about them, but I've just fallen in love with every pug I've ever met.
German Shepherds are wonderful dogs! My parents are German Shepherd people, so I've lived with shepherds for a great portion of my life!

I like Canaan Dogs. They are really smart and loyal to their human. They are the best dog in the world. Canaan Dogs are really common in my area. I know tons of people with one.
Canaan dogs will ward off intruders. They are distrustful of strangers. They are also great barkers.
Canaan Dogs are native to Israel. It is one of the few dogs that evolved without human intervention. They are basically the same as they were thousands of years ago.
The Saluki is also a great dog, almost as wonderful as the Canaan Dog.
I have a mix. My dog Chica is half Canaan dog and half Saluki. Saluki Canaan mixes are very common in my town. I know several people with one.

Dr Menzel, who studied the Canaan dogs concluded that they were descended from Collies, which probably accounts for their intelligence.

i don't usually have a favorite dog breed, but since my wife wants to have a shih tzu i bought her one. from then on i started to like this dog. shih tzu is such a sweet dog but more of a jealous type because he wants to always have your attention.
