Do you think work out at home is less efficient than go to a gym?

Personally, I prefer home gym. Not only because less cost but also because time on traffic is saved. I don't think all the machines in the gym is a must stuff because one can adjust his/her workout plan according to what he/she has at home. But I do feel I skip many days-- That's too bad. Maybe I wouldn't skip any day if I joined any gym? What do you think?

Well, i workout at home and im in pretty good shape. i think that it wouldn't matter unless you have the things you need. im not talking about having a home gym but if you have like dumbbells or tredmill...or everything you need you should be fine at home.

I do it at home too. My only problem is I need an inclined bench. But, well, it's fine, much better than hassling around traffic for an inclined bench.

I've tried both but for me, I think that I get a better workout at the gym. At home, I only have a treadmill while at the gym there is much more of a variety of equipment and classes to choose from. I also find that if I'm working out at home and I'm really not in to it, I tend to do bare minimum while at the gym I seem to work out harder and longer. I also like the weight training machines at the gym and don't have enough room to have anything comparable at home. The gym that I go to is on the way home from work so it's really convenient.

yes, when I successfully managed myself to be in the gym, I can fully focused and work hard. You are lucky- your gym location is convenient.

I'm speaking for myself --- I prefer the gym because it helps me get up in the morning. Having a regular routine without the distractions at home helps me concentrate on each activity, therefore making the workout more efficient. :-) It's also helps that gym instructors are there to guide you in the equipment and keep track of your progress.

My biggest problem is the frustrates I deeply feel when I have to follow a fixed schedule. But, if I don't fix it, I skip the work out often.
