We can not deny the fact that 2008 has made a historic impression for most of us as we experienced global economic crisis which led to oil prices to a record breaking high, as well as for food and other commodities, global inflation, etc.. Thousands of people got unemployed and a number of businesses were bankrupt, not to mention the number of fore-closed real-estates due to credit crisis. With the coming year of 2009, some analysts say that with the current continuing economic downturn, it is not impossible that recession may occur again.. I just hope it isn't true because more families will be affected and it's already difficult for them to survive a living nowadays. How about you, how do you see the coming year?

Hi warmwind! yeah, it's kind of frustrating to see how things are turning out so badly because of the economic distress. Though there are some businesses that have shut down or have undergone retrenchment, I know for sure there are still a few that were still surviving and still in need of fresh ideas from newly graduates like you.. so cheer up friend!! stay positive!

This year made our ourlives so difficult. As the US economy are suffering from recession, here in the Philippes, our economy is also affected. It's so difficult that those things happened that leads to economic crisis.I foresee the next year to be the same as what is happening right now maybe in the first quarter of the month. But I still have this positive thinking that we can all recover from that in the second quarter of the year.Well it all depends on what will be our government official's action on how to help our economy to recover.

Hi eynjel05! yup you're right! We need our government to handle the nation's current economy by creating better economic platforms that would initiate financial recovery and self-sufficiency for our own food consumption especially crops and rice, therefore, we will no more depend on other countries for importation of these basic needs. Likewise, we do hope too that they will be more vigilant when it comes to the appropriation of national budget is concern..so that all those projects pertaining to the development and enhancement of our education, agriculture, infrastructure and other important aspects of the society will be prioritized and not for their own self-agenda. I do hope Filipinos will no longer suffer this much especially with the current downturn of economy...we need to help each other as a nation..

Morning, yoj118! Yes, economic doom & gloom is certainly the topic of the day! For myself, I have taken the attitude, "prepare for the worst, and hope for the best." I am not a flamboyant spender, do not have huge debts, other than my mortgage & day to day expenses..hydro, telephone, internet! I tend to practice frugal living, as best I can! Sadly enough, for the first time in history, we in Canada are facing a huge political crisis, and it will make a huge difference when we find how all of this places out! Cheers, my friend!

Thanks, yoj118....in a few hours we will know what our political future will be, but because we have made so many headlines with our unstable situation, the economic backlash will be tenfold! Canada, in past has been viewed as a very stable country, and this strife has just pulled the rug out from underneath us, when it comes to the way the world looks at us! We will be viewed as unstable, no matter what the outcome, prerogue or coalition, will give the world a reason NOT to invest here! I think we will be facing tough times on the world stage. Have a great one, my friend! Cheers!

good for you pergammano!! you're way of life right now is the ideal living that everyone should adopt particularly with the current situation we have.. Avoid debts as much as possible, buy and live by what you can only afford..We need to save for the future and it's very important. It's sad that you are experiencing huge political crisis there in Canada. Here in our country we do have some political issues too which is not helping the economy to its recovery.. I do hope our country's political leaders will be able to realized what is more important right now than their own political agendas. anyways, thanks for the response..happy mylotting!!
