In Malaysia, we got three type of primary schools. malay, chinese and tamil (indian). secondary school is only one type with malay is a medium. Now have some suggestion to close chinese and tamil schools. I'm 50% supporting that because it will built unity in multicultural society. but i'm afraid we will loose our mother tongue in long run. what you say?

I don't agree with the closure of the vernacular schools. Firstly, we've got to know our own mothertongue (and goodness, they're so many of us here who doesn't know how to even speak/underderstand our own mothertongue!!) and it's somewhat like our culture.
Secondly, as stated in the Razak Report, it has been agreed that vernacular schools to continue to serve the public as long as it's needed.
And FYI, the vernacular schools, such as the chinese medium, are growing at a rapid phase.
