I have read many great self-help books, some of my favourite authors are Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Deepak Chopra and Stuart Wilde. One of my absolute favourite books is "You'll see when you believe it" by Wayne Dyer.
I have lost the book, but I remember reading it over and over. Many years ago I borrowed that book at the library, and I only read one or two chapters of it, because I didn't understand it and I decided that I did't want to waste my time reading it. A couple of years later I read the book again and all of a sudden it made sense to me, and I ended up reading it over and over. I used it at different stages in my life. Now the book has disappeared and I have no idea where I left it, I just hope that whoever found it, enjoyed it as much as I did

I have read "Thirukkural" (Tamil)and according to me it is the best self- improvement book I ever read. If you have the opportunity you can go for English version by Late Rev.G.U.Pope of Italy.

It has to be "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. It made me realize as to how changing one's mindset would affect the way things turn out for a person.
