Truly Amazed

On Thanksgiving morning we went to a special church service for this special day. The day was very foggy and dreary. The sermon was on being thankful and I was thankful that even though the day was foggy and dreary that I was able to spend the day with people that I loved. After the sermon they offered the lords supper. As the preacher was breaking the bread the fog broke and a sun beam shone directly on him as he broke it and offered it to the Lord. What an amazing thing to happen. It made me think that out of all the things I have seen in my life this was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen. It was like God was looking down and acknowledge that we were worshiping him on a day when most people just thing of their families (not saying that is a bad thing).

It is interesting the connections that people make when praying or attending church. In old times, this practice was called reading Omens or some such. All sorts of connections were made for divine favor or displeasure based on certain elements in the environment.

I am not one to look at signs and omens to really mean anything. But we have had a lot of problems the last couple of years and just recently I started going back to church. A different one then I went to before I got sick. I really kind of felt out of place. But to me this was like something telling me that I was where I was expected to be.

Then It seems you have found a place for yourself. Thank goodness! I have yet to find the church I am truly comfortable with. Perhaps one day.

That is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing it with us. I know we are often just focused on our bellies and shopping on Friday. We had a more calm than usual Thanksgiving, and that was a blessing. Nice to see you my friend. I am thankful for all the friends I have, here, and other places. A thankful heart feels really good.

It was really amazing. I have been back into the Sanctuary twice since then and both time I was trying to figure out where the light even came from. It really did not look like any of the windows would allow the light to shine in at an angle that would high light the alter area of the church. So I am truly stumped.

Wow that is amazing! We went to a service on Wednesday night. We had a candlelight service that was awesome. Everyone passed a candle around and thanked God for what they were thankful for if they chose too. We usually have one of these close to Christmas too. I'm looking forward to the Christmas Eve Service. Glad you had such a great experience on Thanksgiving and BTW it's greatthat your church had a special service that morning!

Thank you. I have been unable to attend church services for several years because of severe health problems and this year I finally have been able to go back. To me it was a sign that I am meant to be there. To was just totally amazing. The church that I am going to now is much larger and before there was never special service offered for holidays because so few people went that it wasn't worth it. In the larger church a lot of people make it to special services. I do not remember ever having gone to a Thanksgiving morning service. It was really special and really made you think that we have a lot to be grateful for.
