Hello,I liked the original version better. I have always enjoyed Gene Wilder because he is a quirky kind of actor. However, I do like Johnny Depp even more because he is great actor and nice to look at. But I like the orginal movie better because of the simplicity in the making of it and the way the special affects were made with the chocolate factory. I also liked the part of when they were all in the first section of the candy garden. It was cool to see them eat all of the different types of candies made into other things, like when Gene Wilder drank from the buttercup flower and then took a bite of the cup. It just seems like the original version is more true to a fantasy world of candy for children than the remade version with Johnny Depp. MissAMB

I liekd the original movie better than the newer one. I think that the second one portrayed the story well, and is full of color, but I simply enjoy the old one more.

I must admit I like the original, sometimes I think it is very hard to do better than the original, I have seen this show so many times and it is always as good to watch as the first time, maybe its all that chocolate, just can't resist it...

that would have to be the original the new one was just too immature i believe.

I liked the original Gene Wilder one best. He was so kind and seemed to love children. The first one had scary moments, but it was enjoyable. There was a sweetness to the first Willy Wonka. He seemed like an older man who wanted to be a child and didn't know to to be an adult. I like Tim Burton, but I thought his movie was too dark ingeneral. If I child when I saw this, I would be scared. Johnny Depp was too creepy as Willa Wonka. His portrayal was too weird and I didn't like his custome or appearence. Furthermore, his Willy Wonka seemed like he wanted to hurt the children and seemed to take pleasure when they got punished. The new Willy Wonka came off to me as a man who spent too much time in a candy factory and went pyscho. The Old Willa Wonka seems like a kind older man who had limited contact with people and was child like.

Hi there and welcome to MyLot! Well I definitely liked the original! The new one was a bit strange...I know that the old one was a bit strange too, but it worked so much better! And I did feel that Johnny Depp was far too creepy as Willy Wonka!!
