Well if you're looking to level quickly the answer is more questing than dungeons. The quests you do especially in Northrend give unimaginable amounts of xp. Don't get me wrong, you don't want to neglect the dungeons either. The dungeon quest rewards are some of the best pieces you can get until 80 dungeons and heroics. The ideal way to level is to continuously kill and quest efficiently and only do the dungeons in each area a minimal amount of times to complete your dungeon quests and get those rewards. The only way to get these dungeon quests is typically doing several other quests in the area first, to become eligible. Of course, this also gives you some form of knowledge about the instance so you don't go into a heroic blindly later. Now yes, it seems that you get tons of xp while in a dungeon, especially if you're rested, but it will never add up to the amount you will get by questing efficiently. This was proven when people were dinging 80 on like the 2nd and 3rd days of release. There is no way they did any dungeons cause they had no one to run them with. They quested like hell and not to mention it's a fantastic way to make gold especially if you keep your bags clear so you can keep picking up those "thick fur clothing scraps" which vendor for 50s each.
If you just simply hate questing try using Questhelper and Cartographer. They are extremely useful addons that can make your questing experience seem easy and basically force you to quest efficiently if you follow the waypoints. If that fails simply use thottbot, wowhead or wowwiki to find that damn group of iron dwarves you need to kill. Remember as much as you really want that gear in your atlas loot, it's all about the level 80 epix. For the Horde!

Take a look at alakhazam.com as well: there's a couple of excellent levelling guides on there. Before Lich King, I levelled from 1-70 on a shamn in under 3 weeks real time, simply by questing all the time and using a combination of my accumulated knowledge from previous toons and those guides. Batch questing works wonders (that is where you take four or five quests in the same place and do them all at once)!
