Some people buy guns in order to feel safer in their homes. However, in the case of this story, guns were what the criminals were after. Therefor, while one might think guns make you safer by deterring criminals, in this case they were one of the very items of value that the criminals were after. http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=161709 But, for a more interesting point for some.... it appears as if some of the owners of stolen guns reported the pawn shop after seeing their stuff for sale on Ebay!
