They said that sensitive people are those who smile and laugh a lot and those who are tough are those who are always quiet and cool. Are you a sensitive person? Are your feelings easily get hurt? Do you get upset very easily? Do you think being sensitive is a good thing?

I am a sensitive person too. I believe that being too much sensitive is not good because you start to believe that your close friends are not good towards you and thus the distance between two friends increases. Moreover we can't mix with new people. I've also seen that most sensitive people are introverts too.

Well,I think I'm always sensitive and I don't like this me because it is easy to be hurt by some trifles which in others' eyes are not indifferent.Sometimes,I smile and laugh a lot in public but be quiet and upset shortly after smiling. That's me.I feel sad or heartbreaking easily because of some casual words.I believe it's not a good thing to work in society in the future,so I really want to find a way out and don't be so sensitive.Do you want to help me?

Try to work with your feelings. I do believe that anything too much is not good and healthy. Don't be too sensitive as this could block your mind from thinking rationally. If it's not easy for you to forgive and forget then put your mind and attention on some other things and you'll see...before you realize it you are already overcoming the emotional pain you experienced out of being too sensitive. Take care.

I've always been very sensative but in recent years I've turned my sensativity outward, instead of inward. I'm a very open person, easy to know, quick to smile & to laugh, but I am also very tough and not too shabby in the brains department. I can be counted on in an instant and will hang in as long as necessary. My family and my friends know that I care about them and that's all that matters.

I probably agree w/ those indications you cited on both sensitive and tough personalities. I have friends who are jolly type and laughs a lot but they are mostly the sensitive ones. While I noticed that people who are cool and quiet are "tough" maybe because they are cool-hearted and not easily affected in anyways.
I guess I am a combination of both (sensitive and tough). I can say so because I get hurt easily even just reading a sad story. On the otherhand, I believe am also tough (as what most people say to me)because am basically cool and calm. I do not easily panic and I think I can handle tough situations as I had been w/ a lot of them in life.
I guess being sensitive has both the advantage and disadvantage parts. If a person is sensitive he/she would likely be sensitive to other people's feelings too; and be more careful on his acts and speech so nobody get hurts. However, being sensitive also has the tendency to narrow down things; one may not be able to view things in balance and has the tendency to let feelings and emotions rule and has the tendency to be subjective rather than objective.

I was definitely a sensitive guy and even an over-sensitive guy. easy get hurt by other people, can't take criticism, too concern about other people thinking, sometime feeling tired with life.
That's really a bad memory, I don't think being sensitive is a good thing, coz you can't enjoy your life.
