Do you smoke? Do you believe that second-hand smoke is dangerous to your health? Why did you chose to smoke or not to smoke? I do not smoke and I never have. I tried a cigarette once, but I hated it. I have friends that smoke and I believe it's their choice.

I knew this little girl once who tricked her older sister in to writing her a note to get cigerettes. LOL
No I don't smoke, never have. I pretended I did when I was like 13 but I only really held the cigerette and pretended to smoke it, just to look cool. I have never liked them. I can not stand the smell of them, I can't breath when I am around, them and I am very sensitive to smoke. When I first started dating my husband, my mother in law (future mother in law) at the time smoked and I spent a lot of time over there, I felt sick a lot of the time. My husband grew up with the smoke all his life and I worry about his lungs because of it. He is the only one of his simblings that don't smoke.
I don't understand how mothers can knowingly harm their children like that.

I don't smoke, and have never smoked. Many people in the past have tried to get me to smoke but it just doesn't interest me.
I do believe second hand smoke is harmful and I don't like smelling of smoke.
If people want to smoke then that is fine by me, as longs they don't wish to smoke in my house or car

Only my mother smokes, not me or my dad. I am extremely angry at my mother for smoking. She tells me she cares about my health, and here she's smoked ever since I was a tiny baby. She is supposed to quit because it might worsen her disease but she started again "just until Christmas". What will it be next? "Just until New Year's?". If I get sick from second hand smoke I'm letting her know how angry I am..

I don't smoke, never have. Didn't even try it. However, I did get plenty of second hand smoke when I was growing up due to family members smoking, as well as having to breath it just about anywhere I went, including restaurants. I sure am grateful that my own kids don't have to deal with this as most places are non-smoking nowadays.
I have no doubt second hand smoke is dangerous to my health. Not just because of the statements that have been made on it, but because breathing second hand smoke makes me feel sick to my stomach. That must mean something, right?

Yes I smoke. And I acually read somewhere that second hand smoke is worse for you then smoking yourself. I would say I smoke due to stress.

I do not smoke. I do not hate smokers in general but I hate those who have the habits of smoking in public places without considering that there are babies, toddlers, pregnant ladies, etc are among them.
There have been many researches done on the effect of second-hand smokes to non smokers and it has been proven that those second-hand smokes can be as lethal if not more than directly smoking. That's why some governments have been taking strict stands against smoking in public places but there are still lots of selfish smokers who could not care less about it.
I know that it is their right to smoke and since people talk about the idea of freedom to do things and therefore, they believe that they have the rights to smoke wherever they like regardless of the consequences to others...
Well, what can you expect from people who could not even care less about their own health? Even though there are many benefits of not smoking, they are just not bothered as most of them just could not overcome the addiction.
So what can we non smokers do? We might have tried educating them. We might have tried staying away from them. We might have tried some other things. For as long as they themselves do not want to take the action to stop, nothing much would happen. Cheers!
