Who is the NBA's greatest dunker of all time?

My answer is Definitely Michael Jordan. For the people who are too young you can check out his Slam dunk championship duels with Dominique Wilkins! Classic! Honorable Mentions are Dominique Wilkins, Julius Erving, Shawn Kemp and Vince Carter.

I think Jordan is a decent choice; but for my money, I would have to go with Vince Carter. Let's put it this way; in terms of a complete basketball player, there is no way that a guy like Vince Carter, as good as he is, is not in Jordan's level. But athletes today are so much different, and Vince Carter as a dunker, a pure dunker, was so much better IMO. Carter could glide in the air, for a longer period of time, and do things that Jordan never did. He leaps 7" French men, he puts his entire forearm in the basket after a dunk. To me, these are things that a person like Jordan probably would not have done. Now, could he have? That's another debate for another time; fact of the matter is, we saw Carter do what he did. Sure, Jordan v. Wilkins was classic, but Carter would have blown them both out of the water IMO.

agree with your choice. vince's facial against the 7" french man in the olympics was great. poor guy (referring to the french man) never had the guts to show his face for the nba draft. there were talks that some teams were interested in getting him but after the facial by vince, no team bothered to even contact the guy. lol!

I think the best Dunker of all time would have to be Vince Carter. VC placed Toronto on the map and did so by electrifying every building he stepped in. VC's slam dunks in the competition were pure and original. This guy has serious hops and deserves to be #1. I think Lebron James is coming close to catching him.

10. Chauncey Billups - Has lead the Nuggets to a 13-6 record, one of the most underrated players in the league. Hes a leader and makes everyone around him so much better. 9. Steve Nash - Best passer in the game. He's the reason for the high powered Suns offense. 8. Chris Bosh - The next KG? 7. Dwight Howard - Unstoppable in the post. He's going to dominate this league for years to come. 6. Kevin Garnett - The reason why Boston won a championship, sorry Paul Pierce. 5. Dwayne Wade - 28 pts 5 ast, 8 rebs, 2.3 stls, 1.7 blks per game.. 4. Tim Duncan - one of the best PFs in the league, has lead the Spurs to 4 championships. 3. Chris Paul - Best point guard. w/o him, the Hornets would be no where. 2. Kobe Bryant - One of the best guards of his era and has really become less selfish and more of a leader. The Lakers are 14-2 and look pretty damn good this year. 1. LeBron James - Hes unstoppable and the fact that hes only 24 is kinda scary.

I appreciate the nice response anita but Chauncey Billups, Steve Nash and Chris Paul are not among the best dunkers in the NBA.

Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever play the sport of basketball and is a good dunker but when it comes to dunking the king of that area in basketball would have to be Vince Carter. Carter is just amazing when it comes to dunking. He has one of the best dunking abilities in the world. As a player no one compares to Jordan unless you are someone like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant who is probly the closest thing to Jordan but dunking the greatest of all time to me would have to be vince carter the way he creates and does his dunks is just on a way different level from anyone else.

I agree that Vince Carter is one of the best dunker's of all time and so is Michael Jordan. But I think the best dunker of all time has to be Dominique Wilkins. Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are catching up quick.

VINCE "VINSANITY" CARTER... no player has ever tried dunking like Vince... His amazing dunks until now cannot be imitated by anyone even Lebron... Vince has his thing going on and for me growing up to be a Jordan fan, having only the mentality of "Jordan is the Best"... It is hard for me to say Vince is the best but hands down I love jordan but Vince is my man when it comes to breaking the boards....
