Good evening, my dear fellow mylotters, With the winter getting colder and colder, I feel like sleeping earlier in the evening to get into the warm quit. Today (December 5th, 08) the temperature is from -3 centigrade degree to 6 centigrade degree and the north wind is so cold. I am wondering whether you tend to sleep earlier like me when it is so cold. Thank you so much for your response in advance and stay warm, my dear fellow mylotters. Love from williamjisir

Oh thank goodness!! I've never experience that coldness here -3? Oh man, this is my 3rd winter here in US but never experience that cold. Here in North Carolina, we seldom have snow, only in the mountain areas they usually have snow. The lowest temperature that I experience here is 10 degrees. Now, we are having 17 degrees as the coldest so far this winter. I am not sleeping earlier, hahaha still I sleep at my usual time, 11-12..

Hello dear Bebs. It is good that it is not that cold in North Carolina. It is hard to get over the coldness in winter, especially when we have to get outside from the apartment to the office or either way on a very cold and windy winter day. Lovely temperature you have, Bebs. Keep warm, friend.

I am so ready for bed at 4:15 in the afternoon when dusk starts here in Kentucky. I am not sure if it is just me but it seems like every year even though we fall back about the same time as always it gets darker faster...and it is not any lighter outside compared to before in the mornings...I have the hardest time with winter.

Hello taface. Wow, it starts to get dark in Kentucky so early. Here in the east part of China, in Zhejiang Province, it gets very dark at 5:30 in the afternoon. Anyway, enjoy yourself and keep warm, dear friend.

I'm the other way around, I hate to get up in the mornings when it is cold! I am warm and toasty and comfy...I don't want to leave my bed! It is healthier to sleep in a cooler room instead of a heated room, and since I can't afford to run my heater much anyway, it works out fine, but still in the mornings - it is hard to get out of that warm cozy bed!

Hi there Willi. I don't actually tend to sleep earlier, but this cold weather in the winter sure makes me more sleepy though as it gets dark far to fast for my taste. The only positive side to this is that i can go and watch the Christmas decorations in town earlier as they are lid up from 17:00 p.m. or earlier.

Good evening my friend williamjisir. I have never experienced very cold winter. The most is 3'c to 5'c when I was in the United States. According to the news, it was the warmest winters at that place for the past few years. But for people who originated from the tropical country, like me, it's still very cold. I tend to get to bed earlier than normal days. But I enjoyed the coldness as well, because it makes me sleep sounder, and feel more of coziness of the blanket. I remember the heater is making the house too warm and dry. My eyes and lips are dried up, but luckily, the relocation agent brought me a humidifier which make the air better to breathe Happy posting and have a great weekend!

Hello cheongyc. You live in a very nice place with moderate temperature all the year round. Here in summer it is very hot, especially in July and August, and also very cold in December and January, and February as well. Enjoy yourself, friend.

I am grateful that I live in a place where the temperature are consistent through out the year. Here we don't have the four seasons. But it's boring too. In fact, people who live in tropical country are eager to experience the changes of seasons. Because the scenery of each seasons are unique and has its own beauty. I like winter a lot, because I like to play in the snow. Unfortunately, it didn't snow at all when I was in Oregon in 2002. But I managed to go for a skiing trip in the Mount Hood area. My friends and I were having great time there!

That's so cold there! here we do not get much cold and this time winter is taking longer to come. Courtesy: global warming. But it's kind of true that, we sleep bit earlier than usual during winters. Specially people in rural areas wind up quite early for the chill is more there. Having said this, with the changing lifestyle, with more and more people working till late hours at night have to stay outside as a part of their job profile. It must be quite late there. Why are you still awake William? Go and have a nice warm sleep.

Good evening, mimpi. It is right now in my area 22:16pm. I am staying in my office with the air-conditioner on, but once I step outside the office, it is freezing. I feel my legs so cold outside the office. I planned to leave earlier for my apartment, but my colleague in the next-door office has asked me to leave at 22:30pm. I have promised and will stay till then. What is lucky is it is only about five minutes' walk before I can get to my apartment. I will be leaving the office soon for my night's sleep. I am glad that I don't have to work tomorrow as I will have four days off after working for twelve days straight. I will try to get up late tomorrow. So what is your time there, mimpi? I hope that you stay warm in winter. Take care.

Hello williamjisir, Yes, I do tend to sleep early when the weather is cold. It looks like you are in a really cold place. I live in the mountain and the coldest we have is about 6-10deg Centigrade. Yesterday, the temperature when to about 10degC and it is already cold. You go to bed early and you tend to wake late. It is really hard to wake up early in the morning too, when everything is cold around you and your bed is the only one warm place to be at. Anyway, it is still good we still have cold weather. With all the talk of global warming, it is a relief to see the cold morning and evening coming in. Regards.

I hope that the rain does not cause flood. Every summer in about late June and early July, there is sometimes flood in parts of our place because of having too much rain from the mountain areas. Take care, Robert.

It is cold here, too. But it is not as cold as in your side. Today perhaps the lowest temperature is 6 degrees. As you know I have many things to do at night. And I can only squeeze time at night. So I don't want to go to bed even if it's cold now. I hold a hot water bag to keep myself warm:) I love China

Dear friend, Most of time I sleep because of triedness and during cold in winter I do sometimes like on bed without sleeping but trying to sleep, but at times if tired I may get very good sleep. Sometimes I feel as if sleeping in an Air conditioned with air coolers on with high cooling. But this cold too sometimes is harmful if it goes in and stay in my body it makes me much of breathing trouble and cough too.

Hello Shamrack. Yeah, in cold winters, I used to have an old neighbor who suffered a lot from breathing. She preferred other warm seasons rather than cold season. Take care and stay warm, friend.

I am not sleeping any earlier because of the weather but rather because the sun goes down so much earlier. I know that is because it is winter but it isn't because it is cold outside, for me anyways. Even though I seem to go to bed earlier these days, I don't think I am getting more sleep. I am a terrible sleeper and I wake every hour, never fails. Then it takes me a while to fall back to sleep so I never feel rested in the mornings. Then on those really bad nights where I barely sleep at all, I end up going to bed early the next day and might sleep a little more, but not much. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Hello chrislotz. So you don't have a smooth sleep at night. But have you ever tried some other ways that might help you to have a good sleep? My mom has the same case with a broken sleep at night. My mom falls asleep while watching TV during the day, but if we turn it off, she awakes easily. I hope that my mom sleeps well at night with the same good wish to you as well. Have a happy mylotting day, chrislotz.

Hi W.J.S.....As you know,I do not have winter here in my place as I live very near the equator. The nights are warm enough and so we dont need to use a warm quilt, but switch on the fans instead. But early in the morning its a bit cool, and that is the time I dont feel like getting out of the bed.....But once the sun rises,it becomes warm again.......

Hello again, Rose. I can understand you when you mention this. I got to know this from my foreign colleagues who work together with me. My two colleagues from the Philippines and Kenya found it so cold in winter and had to buy very warm coats to keep them warm as they come from hot countries. I am not sure whether I will be able to get adjusted to the hot weather in hot countries as well.

Thankfully we don't have the low temperatures you are experiencing here in the UK, so for me that is comfortable, because I am a nocturnal person anyhow I still go to bed at the same time all year through, between 12am and 1am in the morning is the time I go to bed come Winter or Summer, I do find getting up in the winter is more of a problem, mind you I am just not a morning person full stop! Hope you are well my friend!

Good afternoon, wolfie. I usually sleep as late as ten thirty or eleven at night because I have to get up early for my next day's work. If I do not sleep well the previous night, I will be lack of energy and won't be effective in my work. But when this cold winter is approaching, I feel like going to bed earlier. Take care, wolfie.

Yes, me too, William. I think I go to bed at least two hours earlier than I normally do in summer or spring. It is appreciated though, because I often have trouble falling asleep. Winter seems to make me more vulnerable to sleep which isn't bad for me. Last night it was 18 degrees Fahrenheit, and I was alseep earlier than I had been in ages.

Good morning, AmbiePam. Winter makes me more vulnerable to sleep, which is true indeed. So you have colder weather than I have. I am glad that the sun is out today and I can still feel the warmth from the sun sitting next to the window of the room. But it is cold outside. Stay warm, friend.

I don't think that you sleep earlier when it is cold for a few reasons. One is that no matter what I feel that I go to bed around the same time unless something out of the ordinary happens. Plus, I sometimes stay up later in the winter because of the snow and cold weather. I don't know why, but for some reason I do.

Hello again, dear friend. I am from Dipu Town, a small town one-hour trip to Hangzhou by buy. Here we use air-conditioners. Right now I use a heater which blows hot air. I love it better as it produces heat much faster than an air-conditioner and it is warmer. Stay warm, friend.
