So I Guess Barack Obama Is Pro War Now

With the appointments made by Barack Obama one would have to assume that Obama agrees with George W. Bush. Keeping Robert Gates, the architect of the Iraq surge, and Hillary Clinton, an original voter to give Bush the authority to go to invade Iraq, a Secretary of State on must assume that everything Obama said about the war in Iraq during the campaign was a lie. Obama said the surge was a failure, but why appoint a man who claim to fame was the surge to the Secretary of Defense position. Hillary Clinton while in the Senate voted to declare the Iranian Guard a terror group, which ironically Obama attacked her on that vote. So I do wonder what does the anti-war left have to say now? Is the anti-war left only anti-war when a Republican is in office?

That is really unfair of you, first off during the campagne not anyone person knew everything about what was really happening over there. They had to assume their positions with guesses and what they knew. After Obama met with president Bush it was then that he had to change the timing of the withdrawel. After knowing everything that was going on and getting all the information and not just partial information, then and only then was he able to make an informed decision. The left is not anti-war they are war is the last resort. Lives of many where lost and do we as Americans know the real reason for the war? We know what we are told and that is it. All the name calling is rediculous and so immature. If we are going to have discussions that is what they should be.. I agree and I disagree.

How is may comments unfair? Obama received the same intelligence reports as President Bush did during the campaign. True Obama probably never read one of them, but that is his problem.

EVERYTHING 0bama said during the campaign was a lie.... from blaming Bush for the economy to all of his anti-Iraq rhetoric. While he was claiming to be against the war, he was also holding meetings with the government of Iraq asking them to hold off on any troop withdrawals until after the election so that 0bama could get the credit for bringing them home... except they won't be coming home, they will be going to Afghanistan instead to fight the same people that we are fighting in Iraq. Since he refuses to provide irrefutable proof that he is even eligible to be president, he is an usurper until that proof is shown. At best he is a con man and a liar, at worst he is a fraud and a criminal and should be locked up before being deported as an illegal. The anti-war left is only against any war that we are winning... we found that out with Vietnam.... which was started by a democrat, as were the majority of the wars we have been involved in.

Yes it is. The left wanted the Republicans out, and America to turn into a far left country (oh by the way the Nazis= National Socialist Party= socialism-left) and the Communists were the same idea and once Obama is president he will try to turn America into that direction. So even though the Nazis and Communists were far left, they drafted or forced their subjects to service in the military, so the idea that the Democrats, also to the left, would believe in peace and prosperity and we talk around the table to make peace is wrong. So Obama is doing what I expected.

I would not consider him keeping Gates on as a indicator of him being pro war. I think it was a very wise decision since we are in the midst of this thing. I don't necessarily think this would be a good time to bring in a new player into the game at this point. Which is no different than why most people didn't want a "change of the guard" for Bush's second term. I don't know about you but I am not really interested in someone getting OJT while our children, sister, brothers, fathers and mothers are at war.

I for one am "anti-war" (although I prefer to call myself pro-peace lol) although I wouldn't say I'm on the left. And I voted for Obama DESPITE the fact that he already made it clear that he'd bring more troops into Afghanistan. He was also clear that he'd attack terrorists in Pakistan if necessary and that he would strike against Iran if they started war with Israel. The fact of the matter is that despite the fact that he is OBVIOUSLY not "anti-war," Obama values diplomacy. So despite the fact that he is not anti-war, I believe he will do whatever possible to prevent war and will only go to war when necessary. Surely that would be a major change from the past president. And he will be more willing to listen to the anti-war advocates and the peacemaking organizations. But keep in mind that although I voted for Obama, I am not a democrat, I didn't contribute to his campaign, and I was unsure of who I was going to vote for or if I was even going to vote at all until very close to election day. I disagree with a lot of things about Obama, but I also realize that he will do much more for eliminating poverty and keeping peace in the world than John McCain would.

Why is it that all of the sudden, people are criticizing the president. if you are so good, why not go ahead and run for presidency. ya'll think you know a lot bout politics and what happens behind the door of the whitehouse just by reading something on the net. do your own research, if you have something to say bad about one person the look for a solid evidence. not just because somebody from the news said so or some couch potato, lazy person-living-in-the-house-of-his-mom said so...

exactly, you honestly dont believe you can just leave iraq with no problems right? youd be the same frantic bomb em!!! type person when another attack happens, of course we are staying there for hundreds of years, if you have the chance to sit and look over the enemies back yard why not? id be a jacka** doing that, rather than a clueless jacka**. Besides in all reality the middle east supplies 70% of the world's oil, if you can control this area than you control the world, its either us or russia, why do you think they invaded georgia this year? we are all battling for position thats what this whole war is about.

We'll honestly i don't understand politics that as deep as politicians do, thats why im not slamming politicians like you do. I'm gonna throw it back at you, do you understand politics? one thing i know about politics is to not be a puppet of the people trying to destroy the credibility of other politician. because, let's face it, that's one side of politics that we can't deny. and being some who aggravate things helps the people trying to hate other politician.
