to be honest, i have no idea what it is your talking about. what does a foot pedal got to do with a transcriptionist? from what i know, here in the philippines, there is a job called medical transcriptionist where in they transcribe the audio recordings of the doctor into text form. is this somewhere near from what your idea is?

yes. so medical transcription doesnt need a foot pedal? a foot pedal adjusts the speed and rate of the audio you are transcribing. it also stops and start it.

Hi there I'm a transcriptionist and I use free transcription software that I download off the internet to listen to the audio files through, thats for digital transcription that is. I only purchased a foot pedal and earphones as it's easier to listen to the audio through the earphones. That's it. If you're transcribing from tapes then you will need a tape machine that is compatible with the size of tape you have. You can buy these second hand too these days to save costs. Check out http://www.virtual-assistant-advice.com as there's a huge area there for transcriptionists, goes through the free software downloads, tips, you name it, even companies worldwide that use the services of home based transcriptionists.
